Dr Orris - WLI Arizona

Recommended Posts

I do not know why it took me 10 plus years to get it together and have surgery. I spent absurd amounts of dollars on dieting plans, pills, meetings, new fad diets and everything in between. I am sure my waiting had to do with having the right Dr and the right staff. It was definatley a blessing to have the WLIAz in my neighborhood when my aha moment occured. My journey started in Aug of last year and I am happy with my progression. I got rid of 27 lbs so far and have no intention of ever finding it again.

Dr Orris and his staff have what it takes to help me through this healthy change and I am so glad they are here for my journey.

Hello! Dr. Orris is doing my surgery too! I am still in process just completed my psych eval and ultrasound. I'm in 2nd month of my 6th month diet with pcp. I've only met him once so I'm hoping once I am done with my pcp, i'll get to know him better, but my experience with WLIA has been great! I can't wait to be banded!!

Hi, Newbie. I'm a Newbie, too. I just started my process as well. My surgeon is Dr. DeBarros. I had to reschedule my EGD and don't know yet when it'll be, but I would love to chat with you so we can head down this path together and share stories, concerns, whatever...if you're interested. In the meantime, all the best to you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
