Breast Lift & Arm Lift

Recommended Posts

A little history - I was banded Dec 2010. I have lost 100 so far. I have had some ups and downs but for the most part I am VERY happy with having the surgery. I have had 4 fills and I can not remember how many cc's I have - I think and 8.5 or 9. I am a size 14 (I think I was 10 or 11 years old the last time I saw a size 14) Over all I feel Awesome BUT I have lots of sagging skin. My boobs are giving me directions to my toes and my arms look like a roosters neck. My belly is not bad at but my thigh skin is very loose and droopy. Most of my weight was lower. Sooo I went for a plastic surgery consult and decided to have my boobs lifted and my arms lifted at the same time. Belly and legs will come later. Surgery is set for July 26th. I am super excited and nervous. I am worried the lift will not lift enough or the arms will still look flabby. I am also worried about the recovery. Should I get a special bra? Compression sleeves on my arms? Soo many questions. I will have time to ask my doctor all of these questions but sometimes the best advice is from ppl that have gone through it!! I will post pictures once I have the surgery. Seeing real pictures of ppl you can relate too have been helpful for me!! Any advice of feedback welcomed!

Out of pocket. I have BCBS and they covered my WLS but they will not cover skin removal unless there is a issue. My boobs sagging they do not consider an issue :( I am using Care Credit to help pay for it.

Kirsten... i was going to use my care credit to get my TT, but when i saw the interest rate... i almost back out. So i went to my bank and was going to get a personal loan, but was surprised to be able to get a 0% interest Chase Slate card. I put everything on it and now i pay that each month instead of the care credit. Just a suggestion.

I glad that my arms were ok, i really need a breast reduction and lift. If i would have know how Painless my TT was, i would have done both at the same time.

Good luck to you. I think pictures of people we know and can relate to is a huge motivator!

Hey!

Just checking in to see how you're feeling and if you have pics to post? I'm scheduled for a breast lift and arm tuck in a few weeks and my nerves are starting to get the best of me.

oh wow! I'm so excited for you! I just had to push back my date to 8/27 due to work conflicts, but I'm still freaking out and buying random supplies on Amazon that I've seen others suggest! Good luck!

Did you buy anything in particular to make post-op life easier?

I can't believe you posted a day after surgery! I hope you're feeling okay! You said your arms are sore, not that you're in excruciating pain...so that makes me a little less nervous! :)

Arms are sore BUT not bad. I had my drains removed this morning because the level of Fluid coming out was under 25ml. I felt like a new person after the drains came out. I ended up with drains in my boobs and arms. I am getting tired fast but over all I feel ok. My movement is restricted and I am not over doing anything BUT with ice and lots of pillows I have been fine. After coming home today from the PS and all 4 drains came out I feel even better. I have more pictures but I can not figure out how to post them to a tread that is already going!! Maybe I will start a new thread!

I haven't been on the site in awhile, but I think they added in a few steps! If you're signed in, click "Photos" in the blue bar at the top, then "Upload Photos". Then create a new album and attach your files. THEN you can come back and reply to this thread and click "My Media" next to the smiley face and choose the correct "Gallery Album" or "Gallery Images".

It worked! OMG, you look great and the bruising isn't bad at all! The drains are the only part that kinda gross me out...lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
