OKay... I called Curves... made an appointment... they wouldn't tell me how much $$$$$$... do you guys know how much they are going to sock it to me for if I join? Feeling a little nauseated... going someplace to exercise is WAY out of my comfort zone!

Darcy they charge $29 a month here with, I think a $79 sign up fee. My sign up fee was waived because I joined when they were doing the canned food drive. If you brought a bag of canned goods your sign up fee was waived. Not a bad deal. Of course....if only helps if you go lol. The only thing I exercised the past few weeks was the right to not go UGH. Big ole' dummy...I know better, I know I have to move this butt in order to lose this butt but, did I noooooooooooooooooooo lol

Another glorious Monday...

Hi Everybody!

Cindy - Hugs! Just cause you can never have too many.

Dianne - gotta keep those hooters under control! Happy Vacation! Hope you are having the best time ever!

Ira - a complete lack of Drama is a good thing. Can't wait to see the pictures!

Eileenie - sounds like you had a great time... So Cool!

Sherry - Woo Hoo! Party on, Girl! So Awesome! Uh - exercising the right not to go? Sounds a little too familiar...

Patty - I hope you hear from your doc, soon. Congrats on winning the auction!

Betty - Hey, you finally got a little R&R - YAY! Hugs for you, too. My DH is growing a variety of peppers - and we are all excited at our house because the first Serano is really starting to look like a pepper.

Anne - Hanging baskets are good...even if you did have to play in the rain. How did the coffee cake turn out? Sounds yummy - so long as you used flour... lol!

Donna - I can't decide what wow's me more... the dramatic difference in your before and after pictures, or the view off your deck~!

Darcy - Oh yes. The dragging to the gym thing. I so should have gone this weekend - but did I? NOOOOOOOO. *sigh* Hell no, we won't grow!

Kat - Hope you had a great Mother's Day.

Mary - sorry, I don't do the Country thing... I'm a Rock-n-Roll girl...

Well - the weekend was uneventful - the best kind. We decided against the faire this weekend... it was going to be very hot - and we decided to save ourselves for the Pirate Invasion this weekend.

So, did we go to the gym? Did we eat properly? Do I even need to say it? NO! I had a Carbalicious weekend - ate everything in site and slugged on the couch watching bad movies all weekend long! I didn't even do laundry... down to my last pair of skivvies! Oh well, the weekend was fun while it lasted... but now I have to PAYYYYYY.

I don't even want to talk about the scale... it was mean to me this morning. Maybe tomorrow we will be on speaking terms. In the mean time, it is back to the old grind.

Speaking of which - I had better get back to it!

Hugs all round!

Oh My!!!! :)

I am a firm believer in double bagging... never know when the outer layer my bust loose!

Thanks SHerry... Hopefully they will be waving that fee when I go tomorrow! I have a feeling I'm in for a pitch when I get there due to the formal appointment???? The girl I talked to sounded like she might be all of 19 or 20... I would be more comfortable with an older chick such as myself. :nono:

At least I made a "sorta" plan to do something!

TTFN... out to mow the very wet lawn!

My Dear Darcey,

You are not alone! I not only feel your pain... I walk in the same shoes! I am so sorry you in this painful place, but you are doing all the right stuff. Move a muscle.... change a thought. Look to the future and don't focus on the past.

I know how hard it is to share your feelings, but don't you feel better?

Big ((((HUGS)))))

I'm a regular pest today!

Rene... You'll have to tell your hubby Eileen's trick for what ta do when one runs out of clean undies! I know what you mean about the scale... the only thing that kept me from throwing mine out of the window was that it is a darned expensive scale!

Donna... THanks so much... I know that we all are in the same boat... not always at the same time but with similar challenges. Sometimes I think I don't talk about it as another way to avoid taking action. If I don't say it out loud... it isn't real??? Yes... I feel much better!

Well... the lawn was a wet and squishy job! It was getting so long that I couldn't find the dog poo... at least with my shovel. :)

Hi all,

I need help. Today my DH went to the Dr. for a sinus infection, and we were sent to the cardiologists. Our PCP picked up a new, and alarming murmur. They did several tests, detected a severely faulty valve, but were very uncommunicative other than that. We meet with a cardiac surgeon on Thursday. I am beyond scared. We don't have enough information yet to make any plans. He has coped by working harder on DD's house. So I laid tiles, and cried... In the past, I ate when I stressed...and that is not an option now. I tried looking online and all it did was scare me even more. I watched the first half of the Greys Anatomy last night, and was actually looking forward to the rest tonight...I was scared to watch it, my best friend said not to, but I switched back and forth. BIG mistake. I guess all I need is your prayers, and good thoughts, whatever you believe in. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love and need him. I just can't believe this is happening.

Kat

Good Morning!

I can't post to everyone this morning, but wanted to check in.

Kat - Honey my heart goes out to you, I know this is very scary for you, but now days they replace that valve and things are great! I bet you they can go in and replace his too! My DM had one, but by the time they found out she was too old to have it replaced. My prayers are with you, and please keep us posted on him.

Something must be in the air for all of us to be having problems with eating. I think I am eating everything that isn't nailed down. I have to stop, and I keep telling myself that but then I eat it anyway. UGH!

Eileen - Great pictures

Donna - Great pictures of you! You look great!

OK, got to run, hugs to everyone!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
