Hello Y'all!

What a beautiful day! I got up early, got my shopping done, did my errands, came home and cleaned house, mopped floors and got some laundry done, then.........................I got in the pool and layed on my raft for a couple of hours with some mighty good tasting drinks! Oh man, it was so relaxing listening to the waterfall and sipping drinks. I got a little bit of a burn too!

Sherry - Congrats to you! I am doing the "Happy Dance" for you!

Patty - Way to go winning the auction like that! Pictures please!

Eileen - Shhhhhhh, I drink beer sometimes too! Just drink slow! Glad you had a good time at the concert!

Becky - I haven't decided if I am going to get a coat now or later! I need one, but hope to lose a little more if I get myself back on track. Congrats on joining the gym! You go girl!

Ira - You need to get your DW on here and let us meet her.

Beannie - Hope you are enjoying the fair!

Cindy - Awwww, how sweet to have friends like that! I know how you are feeling, hugs to you my friend.:)

Dianne - You suit sounds lovely! Enjoy your trip, take some pictures for us!

Darcy - Are you resting up or at the cabin? Either way, enjoy your weekend. I heard it was cold up there?

Mary - I hope you enjoy your Mother's day, forget about the jerk and have yourself a grand day.

Anne - what ya doing?

Donna - Are you still peddling your A$$ all over town?:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Couldn't help myself!

Pat - Hey girl, what are you doing? Miss your smiling face here! Hurry back!

Opps, someone is at the door, probably one of my neighbors. I'll catch you later!

Hi Everyone!

Phew! What a day. We've had a cold drizzle here for about 5 days now with no end in sight. My Mother's Day gift is always my hanging baskets for my front porch (because they cost a fortune, and DH can never think of anything to get me anyways). Anyways we went to the big nursery and I bought my baskets and a bunch of flowers. I came home, put on a hat and planted flowers in the rain for 2 hours. It was kinda nice - at least the mosquitoes weren't getting me.

Right now I have a coffee cake in the oven for brunch with the MIL tomorrow. I caught my DD dumping cinnamon in the batter when I wasn't looking. I almost put it in the oven without the eggs in the batter too. So we may have to taste test it tonight to make sure I didn't put in baking soda instead of flour. :)

Sherry & Irene & Cindy - congratulations on the recent scale victories!

Betty - Glad you enjoyed your relaxing day. You certainly deserve it! You can drink beer?! I'm jealous. I tried a tiny sip of semi-flat pop once and let out a belch that would have made Homer Simpson proud.

Patty, congrats on winning the ebay auction! Keep your chin up about the surgery. You've made so much progress these past few months - just keep plugging away and stay on top of your PCP. Enjoy your weekend of me time. :nanahump:

Eilene, glad you enjoyed the concert! Hope your back feels better.

Pat, where are you? Hope everything is okay. (((HUGS)))

Happy Mothers Day everyone! :Banane41:

Good Morning and Happy Mom's Day !!!

I wish I could just sit here in my PJ's feeling greasy today but I can't. I gotta run to see MIL and my Mom (who better keep her fat mouth shut about Jim's party this Saturday or I'll murder da woman lol).

DD gave me a Teddy Bear with a pink shirt that says worlds best mom and a card, she handed me a balloon too but then said "ummm no, this one's for me" lolol, she just couldn't part with it LOL.

Other than that, I'm going to be home cleaning out the fish tank and straightening up the house.

Patty good for you for winning that auction !!! whooot :) Monday morning start hounding the doctors office and insurance company.... unfortunately I had to do this too. So keep in your mind that this is not aimed towards you, its normal to have to harASS them LOL :nanahump: you'll get there.

Sherry WTG on weighing less than when you met DH... whooot !!!! I weigh SO MUCH MORE than when I met my DH. I was 170 then (at goal :Banane41: and I didn't even know it ). GOOD JOB !!

Betty glad you enjoyed the pool, I can't wait until its warm enuf here to lounge :Banane41:

Anne, that did sound nice planting in the rain, although my joints wouldn't like it afterwords (arthritis and rain don't mix lol). Your plants sound great.

Well chicklets, I must get my ass in the shower, TOM is here, Happy Mom's Day to me ROFL !!! :bored

Happy Mother's Day Y'all!

Even though I am a Mother, this is one day that I would like to omit from my calendar! I just miss my Mom so much, it brings more heartache than joy. I try though, and each year it does get a little bit better. Cindy, I am thinking about you today too!

I have been cleaning house, (I try to keep busy) and doing some laundry. Maybe later we will go for a ride. We had planned to go back over to Harley and spend my certificate, but then I looked on their site and they are closed today, the nerve of them!:) :nanahump: :Banane41:

I should go out and work in my flowers, but I am not too sure I am in the mood for it today. I have so many weeds to pull. But...........I picked my first ripe Tomato yesterday! I can't wait to eat it on a good fresh salad! Yummmm!

Sherry that is awsome that you weigh less now! You go girl!

Anne - I can drink beer sometimes, but sometimes I can't. I just have to play it as it goes, try it, if it works good, and if it doesn't feel right, I stop. Usually when I have a cold frosty mug it works best. :Banane41: :Banane30: :) I bet your flowers are beautiful! So, how did the coffee cake taste, it sounds yummy!

Eileen - What a nice present you gave yourself today! UGH! I don't have that problem anymore, and I am so glad! Hope you have a good time while visiting today!

Well, good morning to everyone who hasn't posted, I'm off to finish the house so I can relax this afternoon.

Have a great day!

When I lost my mom 19 years ago I used to hate mothers day. I didn't have one why should I celebrate! For years it was a day filled with dread. One mothers day my little boy (now 23) said... " Mom don't cry... I know you don't have a mother, but you are our mother and we love you".

Well, out of the mouths of babes! From that Sunday and every year after I did something to honor my mom, not morn her. I worked in my garden all day..... My mom and I used to love to work with the flowers. Then all through the summer I would see them bloom and I could smile and think of my her!

Happy Mother's Day to us mothers and to the motherless daughters that you all find peace today!!!:clap2:

I love ya..

Kisses,

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Donna... I'm moving in with you... just thought I would give you the heads up on that! BTW,,, You look absolutely fantastic girl!

Betty... Cindy... I'm sorry that this day brings up sadness and loss... maybe at some point it will be a day to Celebrate the wonderful Mom's that I'm sure you will see again. I used to feel that way about Father's Day but time passing has softened those feelings into a day of looking back and remembering the good moments with my Dad...

Patty... hang in there... I can remember being so frustrated with insurance company... once they had the goods I wanted to KNOW!!!!!! THEN... they approved the surgery and my surgeon still have me a date a month and a half out...lol. Needless to say... it all came together eventually!

Eileen... You're killing me girl! I can't think of that band now without seeing balls and their faces and granny panties on their heads. :)

Sherry...Woo Hoo!!!! Even at my lowest I wasn't smaller than when I met my hubby... and I don't even want to talk about where I am now!!! You've worked hard... Congrats!!!!

Anne... It's raining here too... and it's cold ... miserable really...lol. I bet your baskets are beautiful... hmmm... maybe I'll get my hubby started on that trend! He bought me a beautiful weeping snow fountain cherry tree two years ago... it didn't make it through this winter... *pout*

Dianne... I imagine you are gone already... but if not... HAVE A WONDERFUL VACATION!!!!

Miss Becky Lee... I need to follow your example... and I think that is just what I will do starting tomorrow... this is crazy what I am doing to myself! Darn it all... if only you were here to drag me kicking and screaming to the gym!

Ivan... Wishing your DW an uneventful surgery experience and a quick recovery. Looking forward to the pics!

Okay...guess I will go make a plan for this next week... I think I am going to have to join WW again... or jump off a cliff... jumping would clearly be the easier of the two options...lol. My Mother's Day gift to myself is going to be facing reality... getting on the scale... getting another fill... whatever I have to do. Wish me luck.

Betty, I'm thinking of you, too. I hope that all the love that surrounds you gives you the same comfort that I've found. I still feel the sting of tears, but I also feel a shield of love and care from all the LBT friends, and my other family and friends, and I know their prayers and concern help so much. Donna, the same for you. Remember that you are so important as a mother, and you give your kids your love, wisdom and gifts so that they enjoy Mother's Day today and all the days of the year.

Thank you to all for your sweet kindness. Thank you, Pat, for your call!

Donna, I am just so impressed with your photos...you look so beautiful, happy and full of life! The view from your porch is fantastic!

I just wanted to pop in and say Happy Mother's Day to all...for after all, every woman is a mother in some way to someone!

Hugs, Cindy

Morning All,

Well... how strange that my band is kicking me in the butt when I need it most! Yesterday morning I got a chunk of bread "stuck"... and I slimed... and paced... and hung over the toilette... it was grand. After that episode...even Soup didn't go down very well. Still... I wasn't ABOUT to let that stop me from eating the cornish game hen dinner my hubby made for Mother's Day.... Nooooooooooooooooo. Gawd I'm an idot. WELL... after 3 bites of dinner... back to the misery and hanging over the bowl. WAIT... that's not all... my hubby then went to get McFlurries for dessert and guess what... mine is still sitting in the freezer as I was up most of the night with my saliva barely going down. THe best part is in the midst of this Aunt Flo came to visit which gave me a clue to my sudden increase in restriction!

So... I sit here sipping coffee veeeerrrryyyy slowly and feeling pretty darn lucky that my band kicked in at the very moment I needed it the most. I hope this helps me get it together. I also told my hubby how devastated I am with my failure with the band... I can barely face myself or others that know I had bariatric surgery. Part of my failure is due to not being able to tolerate the fills... but honestly... what the heck is my excuse now? Anyhoo... all stuff I have been trying not to think about... but it's hard to deny that none of my clothes fit and I am wearing one pair of pants over and over that I purchased to fit my ever expanding a$$. I really thought this rollar coaster ride was over in my life but I think the band needs to be around my brain instead of my stomach!

Anyhoo... I know that I'm the only one that can change the path I'm on but just needed tattle on myself so that I could quit sitting here in denial. Now... could somebody please go to my freezer... take out that McFlurry and toss it for me? :)

Good Morning,

Darcy love, boy do we understand. Your not alone in your mental struggles with food. I too am stuffing it in and I have NO excuse. I had a huge piece of chocolate cake before bed last night WTF? I mentioned to my DH that I need the band for the brain as well, he just laughed but he know's I'm struggling. So my dear... shall we jump back on the bandwaggon together? I'll hold your hand if you'll kick my ass :) Take a deep breath, accept where you are and lets just do it. Getting down isn't going to help... we must get PISSED!!!! and get motivated... waddah say? Hugs and kisses to you.

Donna you look wonderful !!!!!! whooot you go girlie, you go. I need motivation and seeing your pictures sure does help ALOT. LOVE IT!!!

Sorry gang its gonna be a hairy day here so I can't do personals this am.

Have a wonderful day full of hugs and kisses :nono:

Hey Ladies...

Eileen... thanks chickie... not that I want anyone esle to be struggling but it's nice to know I'm not a complete freak. chocolate cake... hmmm...great minds think alike as I made a pan of delish chocolate brownies on Friday and nearly had the pan cleared by Saturday! Last summer I was able to wear shorts and even went swimming in public... we biked evertime we went to the cabin... I felt wonderful... I want that back. I never got down to goal... I really didn't have a big desire to... I just wanted to look normal and do normal things...sooooooooo

You are right... I'll let go of where I was and pay attention to the here and now. I'm all riled up and luckily my band is choking the life out of my stomach right now...lol. How's this for a motto... "Hell no...we won't grow!" Hmmm.. it has a certain ring to it?

Besides... I kept putting off buying new underwear until I reached 180 and let me tell ya... they are looking pretty ragged! I live in fear of getting into an accident and getting caught with underwear on....hehehehe.

(((Hugs)))

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
