Donna -- Congratulations! Fifty pounds is great! Enjoy it.

Cindy -- Sorry you are having headaches. Hope you feel better soon. I know how it is to still have hormones running around in there and not know because the other parts are missing. It takes me forever to figure out that I'm having major PMS (which I think may be happening this week.) My grandson is in Paola, south of Kansas City.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. DH is dragging me out on the motorcycle to a beer festival. It should be fun, anyway. I'm taking my knitting just in case. Later! Becky

Howdy Lurkers and Luvs

Another glorious day in mortgage lending... about half over. I got on the scale this morning - and I had "lost" 3 lbs - back to the magic 316. I swear - it's all about the Water that I drink - NOT so much about what I am eating. I had been bad since my last fill about getting in my Water - and the scale was unkind. This morning - after drinking a full 2 litres of water yesterday - everything was hunky dory. Here I was freaking out about eating - but it wasn't really that, at all. It makes sense, I guess. I mean, you have to eat 3500 calories ABOVE what it takes for your body to function before you gain a pound of true fat. My body takes a lot of calories just to function... But I am going to continue to try to eat better.

Last night, DH made some lovely curried chicken and veggies. I ate my little bandster bowl of it and stopped. Gold star for me. I am still debating on the fill issue. I get really scared every time I see a post about reflux or PB's. So far, I have NONE of that - and I would prefer not to ever have any of either... Hmmm... I guess I will hold off for another week on that decision. If I maintain ANY level of self control, I can eat Bandster portions without strain. And, since the re-work of my department, the grand plan is that I will now proceed with having a life, again. Starting on Monday, I will be arriving a little earlier and leaving a little earlier - so that I can return to the gym on a regular basis. You guys have to keep me honest on this. It is so easy to let it slide... Kat - get that boot ready.

Donna - You super skinny chick, you!! How cool is that!?!? HUGE hugs! The band is the coolest thing... you can be all depressed about eating crazy one week and hitting the 50lb Loss mark the next. It's not like the bad old days when, if you fell off the wagon, you might never get back on. Great job pulling yourself together. Keep up the great work!!

Cindy - it's the inches that matter, anyway... and you never know, I might take you up on that Faire costume someday... Now, what ARE we going to do about these headaches? Aren't the new drugs helping at all? *sigh* Enjoy the busy month...

Sherry - ah, tormenting that poor child. I am sure it is good for his character development... but what city do you live in, again? I want to know where I should avoid driving for the next 6 mos or so... lol!

Kat - and what city does your daughter live in? hahahah

Eileenie... we miss you, Sugar. You think I should sent the local lynch mob after your icky Boss? Hugs!! TGIF.

Anne - what, no Penny slots? I love those things! I won $300 bucks last yr in the Vegas airport playing the penny slots. Woo Hoo! Party on!

Patty - Doesn't it just kill you to see those boys grow up? Every time I see my goofy nephew - he is just that much taller and more grown up. it freaks me out! It seems like only yesterday that he was a tiny baby. Congrats on the big Graduation. Hugs to you and the boys.

Becky - I am sitting here rolling on the floor laughing. I have the visual of you on the back of the bike with a ball of yarn dragging behind, knitting away. I don't know about Knitting at the Beer Festival. Sharp pointed things and Alcohol are NOT a good combination! LOL! Have fun!

Mary - I saw you lurking... whatcha doin' Chickie? Hugs!

Well, the day rolls on. I had better get back to the grind.

Hugs all round!

TGIF peeps :clap2: Made it through another week lol. Next week will surely be busy :faint: I was given yet another project that needs to be done by the end of the month, on top of a project that the account manager told the account was done and it hasn't even been started. When he told me that, let me tell ya, I literally laughed and said do you see that project still on your write on/wipe off board? "yes" THEN IT'S NOT DONE!!! So I was asked to do the two projects at the same freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaking time. I had to let my boss know he was doing this and he told the account that and let me tell ya she's not happy. I told her in order for me to do these things by the end of the month then something else has to suffer because I CAN'T DO IT ALL as much as I try lol. She totally understands, thank God, and we're suppose to meet with him. Doesn't matter he already told the account it was done so you guessed it...I have to get it done.

Well, I got a call at work from my son at 4pm. Mom...I got it. I told him congratulations and to have a good weekend with his dad, love ya and we hung up. All the gals that work for me offered me some valium lol Ohhh Lord, keep him safe and level headed behind the wheel.

Mary - Excellent on the lawyer. Good luck with this whole process and keep an eye on your lawyer too. Make sure he/she knows exactly what you want out of this whole thing.

Bean - Amazing what that scale does to us huh? I get so worked up having to step on the thing lol. Congrats on losing the 3  Sounds like your hubby has some wonderful recipes. Don't cha' just love a guy that cooks heh heh. My hubby enjoys it so ...so be it...who am I to complain :)

Becky - have fun on your motorcycle :P Now.....where do you put the knitting needles during the drive? Yikes!

Cindy - I have that email out to my chiro waiting for the answer. She is a Reiki master/teacher and I"m going to be taking classes with her. I can't wait. Ohhh Kites! I just love em. Hubby and I own approximately 25 decorative kites. All shapes and sizes...my favorite is a paratrooper hee hee. Dang guy once up there doesn't want to come back down. (Ladies, I'm talking about a KITE! lol)

Patty - Gosh I'm glad you're feeling better after that food poisoning. Man I had that so bad 2 years ago I wound up in the hospital for 3 days and about 30 tests. Doc just didn't believe me or my DH that I knew I ate something bad and could tell him exactly what. We had gone to the Springfield (Big E) Fair and I got a sandwich that had some kind of garlic/cream sauce on it. It tasted fine but, ohhhhh no. Sounds like the boys keep ya on your toes. Have fun with the graduation celebration :)

Anne - Have fun with the DH and your sis and BIL. I've only been to a casino once for a concert and spent $40 on the slots. Lost it of course lol. We have two huge casinos not far from here. They are in CT Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. Both are beautiful. I'd love to see the museum at Foxwoods someday. Good luck and come back rich! If not with money, then with the great memories of having fun with DH and the gang.

Donna - WAY TO GO GIRL!!!!! that's awesome and you should be so proud of yourself. You're absolutely right...this is far from the easy way out! You've earned the right to jump up and down and scream with joy! Congrats!

Eileen - I miss those noises girl! Where is ya..tell boss man to let you play with your LBT friends lol. Hope you're having a good Friday and have fun this weekend.

Ann - Where are ya hon? Everything ok. I hope that girl isn't pulling anything more on your family. Thinking of ya

Betty - Ohhh I wanna see pics of your flowers and yard. I bet they look awesome. Do you have your motorcycle all polished up and ready to go for a spin this weekend? The weather here has changed dramatically. It actually got up to the high 70's, low 80s today DH said. He's such a weatherman lol. We have weather stuff set up all over the place outside and he has a website going with a web came gazing over the front yard so people can see the weather lol. Whatever snaps his carrot but keeps him out trouble right? hahahha

I know I've probably missed a few folks but, I'm wishing ya a terrific weekend. (Mine is jam packed UGH. Thurs DS bday, Fri friends coming for dinner, Sat Godson's 1st communion and friends spending the night, Sun Card reader party at my house. Whew I'm tired already lol)

Hope you're all well and shrinking. LOVE YA:girl_hug:

Hey Y'all!

Just dropping in to let ya all know I am still alive!:) I'm tired and ready to go to bed! We have been polishing up the bikes, we are planning on going to a bike bash tomorrow and want them really purdy!:) :) :) So, we have been cleaning, waxing etc. and rubbing hard! I sure hope it doesn't rain, or we won't be going. Then when we get home the neighbor's are having a big party for their daughter's birthday, margarita machine and all! Hmmmmmm, now I have to tell you that I sure do love them things!:D :D :D And the best part of it is that we just walk across the street (cul-da-sac) and no driving is involved! Party time!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Well, I'm sorry I don't have any time for personals, I'll catch up either tomorrow or Sunday.

I do want to say congrats to Donna on the 50 pounds! Great job!

Happy Saturday Folks and Folketts,

Donna 50 lbs WHOLEY SMOKES, that is just awesome, some day I'll be saying whootin and dancing to the same milestone CONGRATULATIONS and BIG BIG HUGS.

Betty have fun on your bike ride, and lordy woman, another party? how in the world do you do it lol. ENJOY

Sherry, don'tcha love it when the people at work know your capable of doing a job, and a good one at that, so they decide to over load you with crap. I get that same thing at work, but not only does my boss do that but the other mgrs and sups do the same crap. I mean WTF right. Hang in there and hang in there with DS...he'll be okay.

Mary enjoy your dinner tonight. I'm glad you got a lawyer and the DH came to his senses about the house but theres no doubt his lawyer told him he didn't stand a chance with it. No judge is going to throw you and the kids out in the street (well, hopefully no judge would do that lol).

Beanie, I'm going to take your advice and eat on a coffee cup plate, I'm tired of this weight just standing still... and I'm tired of my excuses. May 27th I'm going for one more fill but in the mean time I have to lose something or I'm gonna hang my head in shame at the doc's office. Congrats on reaching the 316... one pound at a time. Water is right, thats my big downfall lately. Lets drink together LOL cheers*

Becky, I can see you on a motorcycle knitting ROFLMFAO~ LOVE IT !!!!

What else do they have/do at the beer fest? Enjoy your time with DH.

Cindy have fun with your DD today. Kite flying is so much fun. That really does suck about the headachs. Are you going back to your doctor?

Patty, time goes by so fast, I can understand you staying away from here to catch up. Have fun shopping today :) You know I've only been to the outback once...had the bloomin onion and didn't feel good for days LOL and I thought my stomach was made of steal LOL. The only thing that keeps me from going back is the long lines. Any news on the band and a date?

Annie have a wonderful time tonight and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Kat, love the new avitar....that is you right ROFLMFAO !!! Good luck on the scale today...you can do it !!!! watcha got planned for the weekend.

Today we are off to buy carpet, and bathrooom fixtures for my DD's new place. Then after that we will paint for the rest of the day. Now I know that made all of y'all jealous!! I hate to paint, at least this kind of painting, it is entirely to disorganized in there for me. They (she and DH & DS) have gutted this place, and are redoing it now. I think partly DH just keeps finding new things to do, to postpone her leaving, he worries about her soon to be ex. But there are bare floors, and cabinets, and new appliances, and covered furniture and everything, everywhere!!! Great Grandma is keeping the baby and we are going to seehow much we can knock out today. Her finances eased a bit, their house sold yesterday, to the neighbor, at the full asking price, cash!!! Now I have never been that lucky!!! So we can proceed with the makeover, and know she has a cushion from some decent equity in the home.

Looks like DD is ready to leave....Let the fun begin!!

Betty ride safe, and be careful crossing the street tonight!!!

Oh and Beannie, I have on my oold painting shoes, I can kick good now!!!

How was the knitting/beer fest Becky?

Eileen, have you got everything for the party? How fun!!! We are throwing my parents a Luau, for their 50th Anniversary this June. I ordered all kinds of fun things. And thanks, yes it tis yours truly in the avatar, I figured, then you'd know with whom you talked!!!

Well she is tapping her foot....wonder if it is for me or the kiddo?? Who cares!!! See y'all later!!!

Kat

Good Evening!

Wanted to thank all the congratulations on the 50 lbs. I hope I didn't steer you wrong.....I was struggling with food for awhile, but I have been losing steadly since getting banded. I exersize almost every day and drink almost a Liter of Water.

When I was struggling it was for not eating the correct foods and what I was eating was to fast and not chewing enough. I have serious restriction and have since getting banded. I can not eat bread, very little Pasta, no pizza, no rice, most meats are tough and I can only eat very small amounts. Soooo, the struggle continues, but hopefully the banster rules will someday win over the demons!!!!!

Took all the clothes back from my shopping binge. I couldn't justify wearing a shirt for $78 that won't fit in a couple of months. Found two shirts on the clearance rack and felt much better about it. : - )

Went to the gym this morning, DH and I went to the beach for 3 hours.... Then he took me out for dinner. I ate two crusts off bread dipped in olive oil, few bites of salad, 10 bites of my dinner and wrapped the rest to bring home!

BETTY: yahoo on the prize! That is sooo awesome! Boy you must really have polished that bike! You need to post a picture! You and the bike....

Eileen: Do you have restriction? I can't even eat a whole bowl of Cereal. I hope this fill does it for you. The water makes a huge difference. I drink like 70 - 80 oz of water a day. Don't worry about the party.. knowing you... it will be great! I am sure you have thought of everything.

Kat: Love the new picture. It is so nice to see what people look like.

Sherry: Just remember you son has a higher power and you aren't it! Having had two boys I can so relate to the worries. Shit will happen, but hopefully all the words of wisdom you have been speaking to him about for the last 16 years has sunk in!

Becky: OMG I am still laughing about the bike and knitting!

Cindy: Hopefully your pains will fly away with the kite! I have never been good at it, but I see people do it. They make it look so easy! When does school end?

Mary: Glad you got a lawyer. I loved mine. She made me fight for the some things and made me realize that I had to surrender others. I was determined to walk out of court free. Free of him and all the anger that went with it. I refused to be another angry divourced woman and I wasn't. It was so much healthier for me and for the kids. I figured they would grow and decide for themsleves what an ass he was! LOL

Bene: Congrats on the weight loss. I agree about the water... magic shit isn't it! Wonder who invented it> LOL

Ok, I am heading to bed. Have to go to airport in the am to pick up DSD and the grandkids coming home from Connecticut.

Then to the beach....

Kisses,

Good Morning,

I have to do some serious cleaning upstairs, its hairy up there and I don't mean from the wads that are coming out of my head.

DOC first thank you for that lovely thing you said in that complement thread....your a doll !!! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=18160 I think of you all here like my sisters. HUGS We all understand your struggles thats for sure and you so deserve the success you have worked so very hard for. :) Oh and yes, I'm slacking off on my Water and promised I'd get better at it. I hope my next fill helps more but I'm afraid.... even though I don't eat alot, its still to much but mentally I don't want to eat less.....vicious cycle huh. I guess I'll have to talk to my doctor and do more on my part.

Kat, a Luau sounds like fun, lots of fun. If you go to oriental trading they have soooooooo much luau stuff its incrediable. Have fun with your make overs. I hope I never have to do a house over again...you see we built our home, from the foundation on up. First we tore down the exhisting house and rebuilt it... no contractors, just me, dh, brother in law, thats it. Took us 3 1/2 years just to get it ready to move in (plywood floors, 1 kitchen cabinet and no closets LOLOL) and by the time we layed the last carpet down, it was 10 years later. I have a bad back from all the hard labour but it was worth it. We couldn't afford to live in this area any other way. I feel your painting pain LOL.

Betty GET OUT OF TOWN !!!! I"m so happy you won 1st place.. how *f* cool is that. Did you have fun at the party.

I need to cook some stuff for the week do some laundry....so I'll be back later

Cindy how are you feeling?

HUGS !!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
