Japandii 8 Posted May 18, 2013 I'm starting to think that this band was a waste of money. I was Banded December 17 2012, it's now almost June and I have only lost 3lbs. What the hell am i doing wrong?

Japandii 8 Posted May 18, 2013 Yeah, I've talked to them. I am following rules. It's driving me insane. I thought I would be under 200 by now.

Japandii 8 Posted May 18, 2013 Have you spoken to your doctor/medical center about this? Are you following all the directions to a T? Yes, I've spoke with them. More fills, more fills.... What happens when I'm at 8cc in a 10cc band and still not losing weight? Do you have a specific meal and diet plan your on?
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted May 18, 2013 I don't count calories. That is likely why you're not losing, then. Sticking to a cup of food is great but there's not guarantee that cup food isn't way too many calories. Losing weight really boils down to simple math, when you consume less calories than you burn you will lose weight. The band won't make you lose weight. It will control your hunger, but controlling your caloric intake is your job and that's what is necessary for successful weight loss. If I were you, I'd start tracking your calories. I've lost over 200 pounds in 16 months and I know for a fact I could've never done it without tracking my calories. Best wishes. 3 dawalsh, Maddysgram and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
TheDuchess 106 Posted May 18, 2013 I've known multiple people who have had some sort of WLS and only chose to eat the same foods, just smaller portions. Initially they lost, but then turned around and put so much of it back on again because they didn't make permanent changes to their plan. I know this probably isn't what you want to hear, but that combined with taking in calories through drinks can really discount what the band is supposed to help. Additionally - if you've been doing it for awhile and start calorie counting, but nothing happens, you might want to ask your doctors to look at your hormones or cortisol levels and your thyroid - birth control even. It took a long time to figure out that my body survives on a much lower calorie count than what's considered average. It short it could be something else, but I would start logging calories first to bring to your doctor and then discuss afterward what other things might be hindering your weight loss. 3 ☠carolinagirl☠, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and ADJL reacted to this
Spaness2012 609 Posted May 18, 2013 I am sorry you are so frustrated. I certainly would be too. I agree with all the above and just want to add...maybe it's time to start moving? Exercise can really help get your metabolism going to burn the fat and calories. Good luck! 1 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
KAATNS 1,473 Posted May 18, 2013 Are you exercising? I would highly recommend tracking your food and exercise and taking the reports to your appointments- it really does help. Also, what are you drinking? 2 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted May 18, 2013 3500 calories is a pound......ate or drank if you eat more calories than you burn off, you will gain or not lose you say you eat a cup of food...is it lean protein/veggies/fruit or high fat/high calorie? only you know that answer. maybe a visit to your nutritionist can get you a refresher.... hang in there okay... 3 Maddysgram, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and KAATNS reacted to this
