Day 3 - How on Earth Am I Supposed to Eat 65 g of Protein

Recommended Posts

Yes' date=' one scoop of the unjury (*unflavored*) Protein powder has about 21 grams of protein;

Add it to 1/2 cup of o. j. in the morning; yogurt for snack; and to one other item you eat for dinner. voila you have 63 grams of Protein :)[/quote']

Does the unflavored unjury- really not have any taste?? I don't like the taste of most Protein drinks

I can make 91 grams of Protein on a 900 calorie diet. I buy bags of frozen fish fillets at costco, and eat two for lunch and dinner. And yogurt for Breakfast. I add some blueberries, apples, pears, and veggies to balance things out. Fish is a soft food, and if you like baked fish, you might consider adding more to your diet when you are able to eat it.

The unjury protien does not have a taste, but it is the consistancy of that powdered coffee Creamer. If you put in hot liquids, make sure they are not over 140F or it can clump. If you use in cold liquids, it mixes best in a shaker jar. It mixes into pudding well. You can make Jello and add into mix. I've added it into applesauce, and even though its visible it didn't change the flavor.

If you like hot chocolate, you can mix the Unjury chocolate splendor into 8 oz of warm Water or milk for a treat.

I could NOT tolerate the smell, taste, or after taste of most Protein powders or bars.

I can use the UNflavored Unjury without any issues. . . give it a try :)

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
