argon 3 Posted October 11, 2006 I agree.. nothing wrong with $13,000. Better than $16,000! But, I don't know/haven't heard too much about him, so I can't comment. I do think it's stupid that they won't just tell you HOW MUCH it is!!!
andreerichards1 4 Posted October 12, 2006 the lady told me its just over $13000 but she not being to much help, Im not complaining about the price its just that i would need to fly to Vancouver a couple of times and she not trying to work with me, wonder if she ever get a day off and i could speak with someone else? i like the clinic in toronto they do everything over the phone so you only need to fly there once to get the surgery. andree
argon 3 Posted October 12, 2006 p.s. both places do that TLBC with Joffe and Yau, and The Surgical Weightloss Center with Cobourn and Mumford.
andreerichards1 4 Posted October 12, 2006 oh maybe i forgot to tell you i live up in whitehorse so vancouver is closer to me.
argon 3 Posted October 12, 2006 How far is Calgary for you? Wherever you go, if Calgary is closer, you could always get fills there too.
andreerichards1 4 Posted October 12, 2006 Calgary is close too, the reason why i would go to tlbc is because they give you a video and they let your family doctor here in Whitehorse do the fills i know of 3 people here in Whitehorse that get the family doctor do the fills. for me to get to Vancouver or Calgary its a $700 plane ride. andree
argon 3 Posted October 12, 2006 Were the people you know of in Whitehorse banded by TLBC too? I'd do that then... actually... I would go to THEIR family doctor(s) instead, since they must already know what their doing. I'd rather have someone who's done it even just a few times that have my doctor learn/practice on me. Just for the hell of it... why don't you contact Dr. Cobourns office and just ASK if they have anyone in the Whitehorse area who does fills. They're getting doctors/nurses all over the place now.. I might even have one (closer) soon! Woo!
canadian bander 0 Posted October 14, 2006 Hello Dr. Woodhead did my surgery back in February and I found him very helpful. He is very caring. My medical covered my first appointment with him. I didn't have to pay a fee. My fills are also covered in the one time 13,500 fee that I paid.
andreerichards1 4 Posted October 14, 2006 how did you get out of paying the $400 for the first visit? andree
Paulax 8 Posted October 14, 2006 Andree, did you check into Leung in Surrey? Or Woodhead in Ladner? Just curious...
andreerichards1 4 Posted October 14, 2006 Dr.Leung he needs to do the fill him self they said or its not going to be warrenty. Dr. woodland the lady said it would be ok for my family doctor to do the fills but i need to see the doctor and ask him all the question and its a $400 for the first visit. Im going to vancouver on nov 2 for the weekend it would be nice to see him and asking some questions.
canadian bander 0 Posted October 14, 2006 I'm not sure. I first contacted him about a year ago and had a consultation. There was no fee at that time. The only reason I can think of is that Medical no longer covers the consultation fee and he now has to charge for it. I had a consultation with Dr. Leung as well and there was no fee. Hope that help CB
MrsButler 0 Posted November 13, 2010 I dont get it, my well know doctor quoted me $5000? Why so little compared to what im reading on here? Are things like shakes and fills being added in the price?
