I find myself hating children

Recommended Posts

So I'm just venting but I'm increasingly annoyed whenever I see children at the Gym.

They're generally loud. The younger ones treat equipment like toys and the teenagers reek of judgment and condescension.

Intellectually I tell myself it's good that they're being active and developing good habits but my emotional self is reminded of a childhood of shame and ridicule at the hands of their predecessors.

As I said I'm just venting but am trying to share more.

I think sometimes some aspects of life just get to us whether its right or wrong to feel that way.. we just do !

Just don't let it distract you too much :)

My gym doesn't allow children except in the day care. I think you have to be 18 at mine. I don't blame you Kids don't belong with adults.

I think its more of a lack of parental supervision, my son goes with me (hes 14) and uses the gym as it should be used but I see a lot of parents just drop the kids off and do their own thing , I have also seen parents bring their young kids throw them in the play area and go work out which is not cool.

My family used to belong to the Y and there were always a lot of teenagers around, one of the main reasons I never went because I always felt that they were judging me! Now I've accepted that there are always going to be people to judge you for something so I just don't care anymore, but I now go to Gold's Gym Express, and it's a super nice gym and I've never seen any kids there. College students, yes, but everyone just does their own thing and nobody's loud or anything. Plus it's only $10 a month!

I go to planet fitness. There's no kids since there's no daycare program... It's a pretty nicely set up gym and it's cheap, so that's a good thing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
