Greek Yogurt = high protein

Recommended Posts

I've tried Greek yogurt in the past and never liked it. I always thought it was too thick so I wasn't a fan. Recently I've tried plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream...on baked potatoes, meatless chili, etc. It is really good and has 17 grams of Protein. Don't get me wrong it doesn't taste as good as sour cream but it's an excellent substitute.

Add a tablespoon of Peanut Butter to 1/2 cup of plain greek yogurt and you have the center of a reese cup. It's pretty yummy!

Better still, use the PB2 Peanut Butter powder in the Greek yogurt. Can you say YUM???

PB2 is powdered Peanut Butter with all of the fat removed. It is absolutely delicious added to a Protein shake too!

I have some PB2 in my pantry that I have never opened. I need to add it to my chocolate Protein Shake this week. Thanks for the idea!

My favorite with greek yogart, is and taste sinful..sugar-free cheesecake pudding (jello brand dry about 2 teaspoons) vanilla greek yogart with a few fresh strawberries, or dip in with fat free animal crackers...its been so long since I have been on this site, I thought I would jump right in..mix a box of the pudding with whole container and snack a few days with it great for a party too

You can order it on line, but I buy it at my weight loss center. Try Amazon. They make both a Peanut Butter and a chocolate peanut butter-I recommend you get both!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
