Iulizbug 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Yes, it is too early to try anything solid, even if it is just a little bit. Try using some papaya enzymes--they always do the trick for me. Eat a few and your food just dissolve and push its way through your stoma. Lesson learned though--just wait a LITTLE bit longer before you try anything else solid. It happened to me too and I know it hurts! You can get the enzymes at GNC or Vitamin World and I always keep them on me just in case. Feel better soon!! ~Liz~ banded 03/10/06 Dr.Ariel Ortiz 237/209/150 5'7''
Stitchy 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Liz Well, I think that might be a normal reaction since you are so newly banded. My doc says Clear Liquids for 2 days. Then thin liquids for 2 weeks, Then soft mushies for 4 weeks. That all adds up to 6 weeks, when a fill and normal foods start. The pie crust might have been a little premature. I'm sure others will help with something to relieve your distress. Best of luck.

NJChick 3 Posted April 30, 2006 Your innards are still swollen thats why your in pain. The best thing you can do is follow your doctors advice and stay on those liquids no matter how much of a pain in the ass it is. I remember waking up from surgery wanted a burger lol. I was so afraid of hurting myself that I stuck with the 2 weeks Clear Liquids, 1 week thick liquids and then FINALLY mushies. I'm soooooooo glad I did. Hang in there, its so worth the healing process.
Iluvharleys 15 Posted April 30, 2006 Please stay on the prescribed eating program your doctor gave you, you are still healing and eating things you shouldn't could cause your band in not to heal properly. You need to get back on liquids right away.
gentlespirit 1 Posted May 1, 2006 This could be just the normal shoulder pain from gas that we all go through for awhile after being banded. But it is WAY too soon to be eating anything solid, even a couple of bites. Please stick with what your doctor told you...it's hard but well worth it to let yourself heal. Consider it an investment in your future banded health. Emily
