Should I be concerned ? all of a sudden I am vomitting after eating

Recommended Posts

HI I am 8 months post banded and 5.5.ml fill, for some reason all of a sudden I am vomiting after everything I eat ? I am eating slow and chewing extra well and I still want to vomit. I fell pressure in my throat and if feels like the food bubble just want pass. My surgeon said I would know it if my band had slipped, hence why I am hesitant to see surgeon. I am well otherwise ?? Has anyone else experienced this

I am pretty new, but been reading and you should call the doc. It maybe that you only need some of the Water taken out. Some people say that the band gets more restrictive with time, so maybe your 5.5cc are too much now? Call him and let him know. You dont want to make something that maybe simple into worse. It could be something minor, like he would have to take some or all the water off for a couple weeks. But if you continue like this, you can make it worse. Good luck and God bless.

How long has this been going on? Could it possibly be a 24/48 hour stomach bug? I think that when we're banded, any issue that comes up that effects our gastrointestinal operation, is immediately thought to be something band related. If you've been throwing up for more than 24 hours, I would absolutely go see your doctor. Let him/her rule out anything serious. As ronzo80 mentions, it could be that you need a slight un-fill.

I hope you feel better sooner than later....

Vomiting or PBing? Vomiting is not good and you should waste no time in seeing your doctor or at the very least calling him/her.

When it happens, I would definitely go on liquids for a day or two and not try to force any solids. Then if it's still happening, call your doctor! I went through this a lot, some in my head, some food related. I found that if I got irritated from an episode even a little bit that it would take a day or two for things to settle down in there and be able to get solids back in. I think some of us just have more sensitive systems than others.

That often for me really was more of a 'trying to eat too much' issue.

Nibble just one tiny bite, and stop for a while.

Also "Vomit" means below the band-stomach contents kind of splash.....there would be a considerable difference in that vs the "PB" kind of above-the-band contents.

I've NEVER had "vomiting". The stink of digestive juices is different than the slime/mucous/fluid of pouch-related debris.

it happened to me and then I got pain in the center of my chest, the band had slipped caused by vomiting. Cll your doctor ASAP worst case is they would have to remove it right away least case is they would remove the Fluid and you'd rest for a month and start the slow climb back up. My insurance didn't pay for this and it was over $900 but no surger thank God...good luck and the first time any of you vomit call the doctor.
