i was banded tuesday. Believe that's the port or actual band. When I lay down I feel the same "pushing forward" feeling. Feels like there's a ball/ bubble.

Btw' date=' what's lortab ?[/quote']

Monique 219 Lortab is pain medication that they give in a liquid form.

Thank you all for responding, I was worried that I might have under estimated the pain level, but I think I will be fine. Again thank you !

Chand I had my surgery 3/21 and I had one of the slowest and most painful recoveries. then it messes with your mind because you start questioning yourself. That's a double whammy. I just started feeling better like ten days ago, I've lost 26 pounds post op, and finally can sleep on my stomach (which is huge). My suggestion is take as much time off work as you can (2 weeks) and focus on healing, plenty meds for gas, mirolax, and lots of love for yourself. Follow ALL the rules ( I did) and consult your pillow. Lots of luck on your journey.

I was banded yesterday and I have some discomfort because the gas pain, but it's more discomfort than pain. Take your pain medicine every 4 hours and you will be fine. Today is day 2 and I'm feeling so much better, you can do it! :)

Hey all' date='

I was banded Monday and have been doing pretty well (have lost 11.1 lbs since surgery) and have been taking LORTAB every 4-6 hours apart from when I'm sleeping... have been walking too.

Last time I took the meds was 7:10 AM and have been fine until now (10 PM) and there is a severe pain feeling on my right side of my belly... I took the LORTAB 20 min ago but it still really, really hurts. Feels as if something is pushing forward and it's very painful!

Any help is appreciated! Thanks

If the pain doesn't stop..call your doctor. .the only pain I have felt really is the left sided port pain.. other that..im post op day two and healing quite well..

So I had really intense bad pain in my right abdomen at 1 PM EST today and went straight to my hospital's ER, they did blood tests to check for infection and everything was normal. It went away after half an hour or so but cautiously kept me until 6:30 PM and said to come back if anything happens again.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
