Did they have you drink Water before leaving the doctors office?

Follow the instruction sheet for fills that you should have from your doctor. No need to panic unless you can't sip any Clear Liquids (and keep them down). You won't know if you're too tight for a few days (unless you're obviously in danger if you can't get liquids in today).

When I was too tight I had terrible hearburn and reflux. Trouble keeping anything down. If you are worried you should call your doctor. It is not good to grin and bare it.

Can you choke/suffocate in a sense from it?

I never experienced any difficulties with my fills but I read a lot where others do. If you can drink Water that is good, but the test will be mushies or maybe a thick Soup? Take it easy and slow so that you don't have a stuck episode, as this can cause some inflammation at the band site which will only make you tighter.

Like so many others have said, call your doc if you can't swallow Water because dehydration is very dangerous.

No, the band is around your stomach not your lungs. Two completely different organs.

When I was too tight, I could not swallow Water. Sometimes there is swelling after your fill. If water goes down give it a few days.

Yes, it takes me a few days to adjust to a fill as well. If after that you have problems with fluids or food that is well chewed and eaten slowly, you are probably too tight. One thing I would suggest is that you don't eat or drink for 1-2 hours before bed time. If you are too tight or still adjusting to the new fill, food and drink may reflux back when you are sleeping. That used to make me wake up coughing when that happened.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
