lastone719 0 Posted May 10, 2013 I've been reading so many success stories with the lap band and I notice some lost a little weight and some lost a lot of weight for the first 3 months. Does that depend on your size or your diet after the procedure?
Terry Poperszky 2,784 Posted May 10, 2013 Yes. Both are factors, as well as genetics and lifestyle. 3 2muchfun, hely88 and BayougirlMrsS reacted to this

2muchfun 8,927 Posted May 10, 2013 So many variables with WLS. Much of the weight lost post surgery is just Water loss, so if you have 200 lbs to lose, your body has a lot of excess fluids and they come off rather easily. If you don't have a pre surg diet you will most likely lose more after surgery than someone who loses 20-40 lbs pre surg. Some people get restriction with just the surgery and feel satisfied withoiut getting fills. It's a crapshoot. 2 SeaSounders♥ and hely88 reacted to this
Sharpie 3,306 Posted May 10, 2013 my Doc said because I am not really big (my staring wt was 198) It would probably be a slower process.. but, that is okay I think I will stay healthier.. so far I have lost 38 lbs (surg date 1/15/13) so it's slow but steady.. yes I also think it's how you eat, exercise, age and genetics... I am older (66) than some and I just started exercise routine so we will see what happens . I am staying in the plan 1 cup of food each meal.. sometimes I eat in between but usually low cal , high Protein snacks.. My diabetes is in check, my blood pressure has improved and I have more energy than I have had in years so it's a win, win... 3 Kitt3000, SeaSounders♥ and hely88 reacted to this
