DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted May 10, 2013 If I have a drink, I do so in moderation. I don't get drunk nor get hungover. I definitely wouldn't be so foolish to drink til I puke now that I'm banded. 5 ☠carolinagirl☠, Maddysgram, hely88 and 2 others reacted to this

shellbelly 8 Posted May 27, 2013 I wonder this also, because my husband is in afghanistan and will be home in 23 days and I know I will want to Celebrate and drink with him and his friends
♕ajtexas♕ 3,771 Posted May 27, 2013 I enjoy wine, in fact I have a glass every night before dinner. I have done this since day one of my journey. I count the calories (110 calories for 5 ozs) and I keep it in moderation. My thought is don't deprive yourself of something you love, find a way to have it in moderation. 2 CHEZNOEL and catfish87 reacted to this
lellow 1,713 Posted May 27, 2013 I drink. Drank through the whole losing period and the whole 5 years I've had the band. I don't drink everyday but I do have big nights out with my friends drinking. I know they're empty calories but I'm not about to stop living just because of my band. Same reason I still eat ice cream sometimes. If you chose to drink and have those empty calories, either work it off or don't moan if you don't lose fast. Simple. Only once I got to the point of needing to vomit. It was horrendous. That once was enough. I've drunk a lot some nights but never ever to the point of needing to vomit, ever again. I drink slowly and steadily and I don't do shots. Shots are evil for bandsters, mmkay? 3 MiniMi, labwalker and CHEZNOEL reacted to this
MiniMi 1,468 Posted May 27, 2013 There is a video on YouTube from Banded Wendy around New Year's Eve. It was about the " ugly" of the band and it talked about her night out drinking. Very insightful. Drinking with the band is tricky because very little goes a LONG way. You may want to try it out at home first until you know how it will effect you. I drink lemon drop Martina's when I go out. But like AJ I usually stick to wine. Red wine with all the calories that go along with it is good for you too. ( if its high quality, no boones farm and if its a glass or two.) Being a banster instantly makes you a cheap date, and a tipsy one too! Heehee. 2 ♕ajtexas♕ and CHEZNOEL reacted to this

B-52 7,113 Posted May 29, 2013 I drink the same as I did before being banded..which means anything I want.........except for beer or anything carbonated...I waited over a year before "Learning" how this is done and getting to know my band well enough..... Memorial day Picnic....I drank maybe 4 beers??? Incidentally I did not eat anything either, nothing there that was band friendly for me.....except chips and dip. I always get a cocktail before dinner when we go out....NEVER drink while eating or soon after, learned that lesson the hard way...... I never drink to the point I'll vomit...sorry, those days are over...... And of course, there seems to be many people on this forum who are very much into dieting and calories counting....so you all need to know how drinking can de-rail your diets.... thoward 14 Posted May 29, 2013 Maybe this is sad to say, but I can handle any kind of drink. Now don't get me wrong, I don't over drink at all, but when I have a night out with my friends I can enjoy without getting sick. I believe having a drink or two of any kind of alcohol is ok. One just needs to know their limits!
shellbelly 8 Posted May 30, 2013 Toward, so are you able to beer? Carbonation?
thoward 14 Posted May 30, 2013 Yes I can handle beer, mix drinks, and even shots of tequila with no problems.
