JessicaGeiger 5 Posted May 9, 2013 I know we are not suppose to have gum six months post-op, but has anyone asked their doctor about mints?

hely88 883 Posted May 10, 2013 I chew gum all the time. Was also never told not to chew or anything about swallwing it. Really helps me get through the no drinking after meal deal.
mrsto 2,925 Posted May 10, 2013 I was also told, no gum. They say it causes a lot of gas. I put it to the test a few weeks ago, and I was Totally gassed out! I was shocked, because prior to surgery I always chewed gum. Now I keep Tic Tacs in my purse, for the times I feel the need to "freshen up".
