Hey everybody. I'm only two days post-op, but still haven't drank not even a full cup of Water. It makes me nauseous. I remember reading on a lapband site that I can have sugar free Popsicles just once a day. Anyone else heard of this?

Yes! sugar free pops have been a favorite of mine. I would also recommend something hot like tea or broth!

Don't get dehydrated! If all you can get down is Popsicles, go for it! Call your doc before you have to be put on I.V. Fluids. You can go along time without food but you need water!

I'm trying. Just realized its the cold Water that's making me nauseous. Going to try the room temperature. I'm just totally not hungry.

Popcicles were a lifesaver for me for the first 2 days postop. I couldn't get a thing down besides popcicles.

I constantly had a Popsicle in my mouth the first few days. They kept me hydrated and sane! I'm a big advocate for sugar free Popsicles.

I think Edy's sf Popsicles are the best. A few more calories but they taste so much better.

Must try. The ones I bought today were not delish but it wasn't broth :) so they tasted great to me since I haven't eaten in two days.

I didn't drink much of anything the first 3 days. I didn't have an appetite either. By the 4th day I was drinking more..just keep that Water bottle(or cup) in your hand and take little sips. Good luck on your journey! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
