Can I Feel My Band?

Hi all.

I was banded on 12 Feb and have not yet had a fill.

I think I can feel my band at my sturnum, jsut under my skin. Its a hard lump. Is this normal? It dosent hurt, its just a bit disconcerting.

( I have a largish old hernia in the upper right portion of my torso from a scar down the midline, that my lap-band surgeon said he stayed away from during the surgery)

What you are feeling below your sternum will be your port. Your band is around your stomach and you cannot feel it.

You could also just be feeling your Xiphoid process which is a bone in the lower part of your sternum. Your band is deep in your body cavity and you won't be able to feel it.
