So my surgery date WAS may 21st... But my dr is lagging with my 2 year weight history and my psych is lagging on the letter I need and they moved my surgery to the 30th now... I'm going crazy because there both taking their time like its not importent and they are holding everything up! In so beyond frustrated... It may not be importent to them but for me this is life changing and they are wasting my time! I don't know what else to do :(

I try to look at situations like this as a blessing. There may be a reason why you are meant to have a delay. Have patience, it will happen when it is supposed to. :)

Thanks kitt, I know what you mean in just getting anxious... Especially that I know I hAve my surgery date but I don't even know if I will be approved by my insurance... And I'm trying so hard to get things together n the surgeons office keeps calling and I don't know what to tell them anymore, besides that I'm trying! It's just getting frustrating and my family really doesn't consider this surgery a big deal, because it's elective it's not life or death so their not helping out so much either... I'm just venting but I know your right!

You never know why you are experiencing delays, if you are spiritual, you need to consider your timing is not God's timing. If you had the surgery on the original date, you could have gotten into a car accident on the way or gotten a defective band. You just never know, but you have to trust it and just go along with the process as it comes. I was overly anxious, but the truth of the matter is you need time to go through all of the emotions associated with this life changing procedure. Trust me...there are psychological phases you will go through and I believe they are a necessary part of the process. I haven't had much time to adapt - my initial consult was on April 11, 2013 and I'm scheduled for May 17 or 24th. I wanted it done quickly, but just a few days ago I started a new phase "am I doing the right thing?" Today - I believe so!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
