waterlily1072 5 Posted April 29, 2006 Maybe you moved wrong in your sleep to irritate it. Sorry not much help, too new to know what is normal for 6mo post-op. I would ask your doctor. Hope it's nothing
omamoon 0 Posted April 29, 2006 lianna, It takes at least three months for your port to become encapsulated with scar tissue. Since you are six months out, you might have somehow "jogged" it a little to cause the soreness. I had my surgery on April 20th, and since the date of surgery I have used a lightly wrapped ACE banage around my middle to help with pain and support. I wear it a night and a few hours during the day. It has helped my soreness tremendously -- and my scars are as flat as can be. You might try a light wrapping to help until your soreness goes away and to help hold your port back in place until it "re-heals."
rharriet62 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Hi, Sometimes if I sleep wrong on it, I get an ache at my port site for a few days. I also feel it a lot because I work out a lot and do lots of abs. I think it's pretty normal, but call your doc's office if you think it seems abnormal for you. It's always better to ask than to worry!
JennBand08 0 Posted December 2, 2008 I'm 3 months out and just went to the Dr.'s office the other day for this very reason. He said I probably slept on it funny or something. It is surrounded by muscles, so it is sensitive sometimes. He advised me to take a mild pain killer if I needed it and that it would go away. I felt better after going in to see the Doc, just to be sure. I'd give yours a call if you are concerned or if it doesn't subside soon.
Melolo 0 Posted December 2, 2008 The only pain I've experienced at my port sight was when I had my last fill and the nurse said that it was because scar tissue had formed. I'm four months out. I will have my fourth fill Monday and I'm not looking forward to it because my last fill was painful. I don't know if this information helps just thought I share. :cursing:
KJDVILLE 1 Posted December 3, 2008 I was banded Aug 07 and still have tenderness alot with my port. If I could change one thing regarding my band it would be the area my port was place..Being placed right under my left rib my Bra is always putting pressure on it.....Maybe one day I will have my port replaced and moved to a better place. happygrlaz 0 Posted December 5, 2008 I usually have pain with my port after a lot of hard physical activity like running or any type of activity that uses the muscle the port is on. It's usually sore for about a day and then it goes away.
