I have four tattoos, all done mindfully to commemorate certain events in my life. I think it is a great idea as it is a meaningful and permanent reminder of something special. One of my tattoos is from overcoming a severe depression. I have "Lux" which is Latin (or Italian) for "light" tattooed in sky blue on my wrist - meaning finding the light, the positive. I now can also relate this tattoo to weight loss.

One thing to make sure of, though - get an artist you are very confident in - that you have seen their portfolio and their shop so you know they are true professionals.

Good luck with your decision!

Well as far as I know you can't donate blood after having a tattoo but I have never heard of not donating after having a band.I live in Australia and am not allowed to donate blood . Is it because I am a drug user' date='promiscuous or something similar? No, it is because I lived in the UK before 1980 and therefore I might be a MAd Cow......................![/quote']

Elcee I am with you! I was in Germany from 1986-1989 and am not allowed to donate for the same reason. Being a nurse, it really bothers me. They said there will not be enough research to overcome this decision within my lifetime :(

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
