Do fills/Stuck episodes cause headaches for anyone else?

Recommended Posts

I had my 2nd fill Friday (5CCs so far) and noticed I had a headache after, I had one after my first fill. I also recognize that the one or two times I had something that didn't go down well (so far no real stuck or sliming incidents) I got this same headache. It feels like pressure on my brain, and almost like a good sneeze or burp would help, but they don't. It went away a few hours after my fill.

Actually yes! I thought it was just me, but I do get headaches after fills and sometimes after eating. Strange!

I've had nasty headaches after my last two fills. The first one I figured wasn't related, but after the second i think they are related. I'm just about at the green zone, so hopefully I won't need another fill. Not sure what causes it, I know I'm getting enough Fluid it. I've never gotten one after being stuck.

I don't get headaches from the fills, but stuck episodes make me feel nauseated for sure. Pretty nasty feeling.

It depends if I eat or not before I go If I eat ten I don't get the headache If I do then sometimes just a little one then it passes if I don't eat then I get a big one so I try to eat a little one but it goes away fast , so the answer is sometimes lol , , but I would mention it when u go for ur flls. so they know.

Interesting, I always go after lunch time to get mine done. Maybe that's why I don't get a headache.

My next appointment is later in the day, I will test this theory.

So glad you ask this, had my first fill this afternoon and the headache started on my drive home. Wondered if it was having my head down so low when he was getting set to do the fill. Had only had a half a banana and some sobe life Water for lunch before the appt. Its all gone now. Was able to eat a regular dinner with no issues.

I am not a doctor, but consider this... The vagus nerve comes from brain stem and part of its path is on or around the top of the stomach. Perhaps a tiny squeeze aggravates it enough to cause a headache! Honestly i dont know but it is a thought.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
