That is normal! You will be excited tomorrow when you get there. Be ready to come home, walk as often as you can and drink lots! Good luck!

Mine is Tuesday but I was told by others make sure to wear a sports bra and a shirt your not attached to as your incisions may bleed on them.

One of the ladies in my pre op class ruined her baby blue shirt.

Shop before hand for the first 1-2 weeks you will not want to go out to the store.

sugar free Popsicles have been several people's saving grace apparently.

Good luck!! Your in my prayers.

Same thing happened to me a year ago. Now I add a clear Fiber to my Water every day along with the stool softener. We are nowneating so different and a lot less Fiber then we used to. Glad you got a fix. One time with that problem is all it takes!

Best of luck and congrats! Some things to have are low sodium broth, whatever Protein Drink your doctor suggests, sugar free popsicles and Jello and gas-x strips if possible if not the chewable tablets.

I was really scared because I could not Go to the bathroom for 5 days. Is that normal with the surgery procedure.

Perfectly normal. Your doctor should have warned you though

Don't be surprised if the second day is worse than the first, but for me it's been increasingly better everyday since day 3.

Be careful, you don't want to be constipated. Put additional Fiber in your drinks or take a stool softener.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
