Banded april 23rd

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I was banded April 23rd. I'm almost to the point of puréed food. Right now the food I've been eating was my left over shakes from pre-surgery, Jello, mashed potatoes and Soups. Does anybody have any suggestion for puréed foods. I'm really missing meat!!!!

Thanks!

I was banded April 25th and still have 2 more weeks of full liquids. Ugh. I cannot wait until puréed foods... I am craving meat/chicken/eggs!

I think it's interesting all the different diets people have to follow after! Some have a lot more full liquids after than I do. Mine was just two weeks worth, then then one week of creamy Soups and milk with Clear Liquids, then two weeks of the puréed foods. Slow process no matter how you look at it I guess? I found the v8 fusion drinks awesome as they are getting me a lot of the Vitamins I need.

5 days into my post-op my surgeon told me to try a scrambled egg, eat it slow and see how I handle a couple bites...it was heavenly! I was banded 4/29...getting there! :)

Add a little light cheese for more protein! When you can eat solids, add crumbled turkey sausage or diced ham!

I tried a scrambled egg today. It stayed down but my stomach was a little nauseous afterwards. But it did taste good!!!! Back to work tomorrow, should be interesting.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
