for more Protein try nutritional yeast. it has something like 8g in 2tsp. its tastes great and you sprinkle it on things' date=' so the Proteins add up that way over the day.[/quote']

Have you been watching DR Oz? I saw that on his show and will have to research it. Ty for suggestion.

i dont watch Dr. Oz or any show like that. i dont agree with a lot they say (just my personal feeling and they promote things that the sponsors pay them to say)

i took a 12 week class on healthy eating and that was one suggestion they gave us. it tastes like chick bouillon a little so you can add it to any and everything you want.

Yeah I watch him sometimes and I agree with you. Usually it is background noise but he did talk about it just the other day and since you mentioned it I will check it out for sure

It's unfortunate the Quest bar caused cravings and head hunger for you....I tried my first one this morning, I had the coconut cashew and I really liked it...hope you find an alternative :)

I like nature valley Protein bars. They have 190 calories and 10grams of protein. They do taste good. I use them when I have a sweet craving...better than eating a candy bar but am definitely looking for a lower calorie choice that doesn't taste horrible.

I have those too. My mom gave to me, but I am not willing to spend my calories on that. I just went to gym after lunch and was the best I have felt yet. Think I will continue to eat food. When I need sweet I eat dark chocolate or I keep a mix of sprouted or raw nuts and seeds mixed with a little dried fruits.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
