How much fill do you have, and do you have restriction?

I had my first fill yesterday. I received 1.8 cc and I don't really feel any more restriction than I had before. I've read here that some people take a day or two to notice the restriction. I hope that is the case for me.

I have 1cc and I feel fine. I can eat chicken, roast beef, steak, shrimp, salad, and broccoli with no problem unless I am naughty and sneak a cold drink of iced tea while I'm eating. That's instant stomach clenching right there, and it's given me some pain twice. I did learn the second time. :P

Anyway, I don't get hungry between meals and I'm very pleased with the abiility to eat well and not suffer with morning tightness or PBs. I'll not be getting another fill unless I start getting hungry in that four hour zone between meals.

1.3cc in a 4cc band...this is my first fill, and i got it on april 12, so it is probably vanished by now. i have NO restriction at all. i go for the next fill on may 10...i am starting to feel that whole last supper syndrome all over again. i know that these very well may be my last days for certain foods!

WOW Kathy!!! 1.8cc's?!! You should call now to make your next appointment. I called one week after my first fill to make my next appointment. The P.A. had told me that the fill would be absorbed by the band, and to just call when i got ready for the next fill. so i did!

I have the 4cc band and I have 1.5cc so far and for now the restriction is good, so long as I am not hungry in between meals I am happy.

My first fill was 1cc, 3 weeks ago. I called infor another b/c although I didn't feel hungry between meals, I was aboe to eat large quantities... and didn't trust my willpower to hold out. I got another cc today, so I'm hoping. So far no difference but all I've had was a few tastes of DH's Soup and a Protein Drink, no hard Protein yet.

I was told by my dr. that my band was tight when he put it on... Since getting banded on January 12 I have had once fill of 2cc in my 4cc band. I have had restriction since the beginning. I have problems or don't eat beef, Pasta, chicken, pizza or bread products.....

I am not complaining... it is the way it is..

I have the 9.75cm 4cc band. I am currently at 2.1ccs. I am truly at my sweet spot. It doesn't take much to fill me up and I stay full without snacking. I can eat just about anything but breads, instant PB. I do have other metabolic issues though. I have PCOS with major cysts, and insulin resistance that still requires 1500 mg of Metformin daily. I am happily losing 6 lbs a month though!! It is WONDERFUL!!!!!

I had some natural restriction from the band, too, but by week 7 post-op I was pretty wide open in terms of what I could eat, though even when I ate the most post-banding, it was still way less than a "small" meal pre-banding.

I was able to eat Pasta, hard breads, crackers/chips (omly tried tortilla, don't like potato chips), wheat thins... I also had 1 very small piece of chicken pizza to see how I'd do with the crust and it was fine, I just chewed the crap out of it and only swallowed teeny tiny bits of it at a time. I purposely avoided rice, soft breads, etc. just because I don't miss them and never found them worth the risk. :P

There were two things that would bother me to eat, that I could really feel sitting for a bit before they went down, and that was (of all things) bananas and applesauce.

I told my doc I couldnt feel any restriction - I felt myself getting full quicker, but not really restriction, he gave me the fill and said, "There, you should feel that!" I certainly hope so! My willpower is destined to fail. :brick:

I had 2 cc put in for my first fill. I don't really feel any restriction, although I'm not starving like I was before. The only discomfort I feel is the first few bites at supper.

Wow Ralheit, your doc doesnt mess around! I had 1cc the first fill and definitely had restriction, 1.5 at next fill had me spitting up my own spit.....Had an unfill to 1.3. Just goes to show INDIVIDUAL we all are, but it is neat to see all out different fill levels. I am now at 2.1 six months later.

I have 1cc in a 4cc band and I do have some restriction. I have PB'd once and I get stuck a few times a week and have pain. However, that being said, I do have times when I can eat large quantities of any food and not feel a thing and not get full. So I don't think I'm at my sweet spot. I'm pretty tight in the morning and usually that's when I've gotten stuck, but by dinnertime anything goes. I'm scheduled for another fill on May 10th and have no clue how much he'll put in. I can't imagine being tighter in the mornings, but I need to get control of the ability to eat unlimited portions at dinner. I am losing though, about 1.5 pounds per week on average. It's nowhere near as fast as I would like so maybe my next fill will speed things along...

I got my 6th fill this past Tuesday and am now at 2.8cc. It's definitely an individual thing. The typical signs for me that I need a fill are 1) I'm hungry 2-3 hours after eating and 2) I can eat significanly more than usual.

My surgeon told me that sometimes when you lose a significant amount of weight, the restriction will diminish, thus the need for another fill. I'm pretty aggressive with my fills. Once I get my signs, I don't wait more than 1-2 weeks before getting a fill.

He also mentioned that once I get closer to my goal weight, the frequency of fills will decrease. I'm hoping that's the case. My fills are virtually pain-free, but if I don't need one, all the better.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
