sherrintxs 27 Posted May 5, 2013 I wake up and have my hot tea each morning and my shake. This morning though by 10:30am, I needed some malt o meal that was on the list of what I can have. I get that "crash" feeling when I am hungry and it happens often. Going to my first post op visit Wednesday, but going back to work tomorrow. Really do not want to starve all day, but I also do not want to be eating every hour either. Has anyone else felt this and how did you get that feeling to go away. hely88 883 Posted May 5, 2013 I felt that way and eventuall called my doctor who let me start blended canned Soups. I suggest if you feel that bad and you are drinking a lot of Water maybe call your doctor. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted May 5, 2013 Simple carbs like malt o meal won't stick with you like a Protein shake, egg drop Soup or refried Beans. Processed foods like malt o meal metabolize quickly and can cause insulin spikes which will make you even hungrier. It's like eating liquid bread. Tasty I know, but not a real good hunger deflater. Can you have lentil or black bean Soup? Lots of Fiber and should stick around a little longer? 3 ItsANewDay, ☠carolinagirl☠ and sherrintxs reacted to this
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted May 5, 2013 agree with tmf, def sounds like you need more filling items..alot of processed foods slide right on through and (dont hang around) like Protein laden foods...so drink alot (like hel advised) and eat protein/veggies/fruit...the band wont help you not be hungry, just not eat as much...up to us to choose what we eat....hang in there 1 2muchfun reacted to this
ronzo80 11 Posted May 6, 2013 Banded 4/24. I am on a two week clear liquid diet, and pretty hungry too. Make sure you are not eating anything thst is not on your diet. The reason why we cant eat is because the scar is forming around the band that will keep it in place in the future. You eat, your stomach muscles work, and the scar is disturbed. Those sugar free ice pops are supposed to be a life saver, although I havent had one yet. sugar free Jello and broth too. I try to space out my eating as much as I can, and it worked until a couple of days ago when the stomach was no longer inflamated. Like my doc said, I am going to be hungrier for the next few days until my fill on Wed. Good luck and be patient. 1 Shawnie914 reacted to this
