looking for someone to talk to for support

I was also banded on May 1st. Believe me if anyone was scared it was me and I did second guess myself several times especially since I have anxiety and panic attacks. I had to way the pros and cons. Did I really want to be fat the rest of my life, I already tried every diet and wasn't successful so why would I be now without the surgery. If I have the surgery I know I will be in good hands and make it through just fine and they will give me something to calm my nerves. Yes I will be in pain after, but is it worth being healthy and fitting clothes I would live to wear. So I made my decision based on this was my last chance to lose weight. I'm still healing, but it's not horrific. If you choose the right dr then there should be no complications especially not death. Good luck on your decision and think positive :)

I'm 24 and getting banded on the 7th.

The edg is nothing at all I was scared too but it's really nothing to be scared off I promise. And lucky for me I Did have the hernia (which surprised me since I've never had heartburn in my life) but that makes this a more affordable choice.

I started looking into banding in 09 and got sated away from it a million times between horror stories and absolutely no support and lots of name calling because I wanted it.

Do you have a date yet? Remind me at the end of this week beginning of next and ill let you know how my surgery Tuesday goes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
