I've only been band-ed for six months. I've been in the green zone for going on three months. At this time, I cannot over eat. I have over eaten a couple of times, but I was so uncomfortable, I promised myself I would never do that again. It's an awful seasick feeling for me. It's like aversion therapy. It's so awful you'll do anything to avoid it. You are not to put that type of stress on your lapband, it can do damage. It was very foolish of me, and I was totally eating in a manner that was against everything I was taught. The band has taught me how to eat. I'm very happy with what I've learn, however, I would have much rather never experienced the discomfort.

I so agree with you all. Why get the surgery at all if you don't change your head habits. I lost 73 lbs in less than 6 months. I am at my goal and still going by the rules. Honestly had I read some of these posts before surgery, I might not of gone through with it. My sister and my niece as well as myself have been very successful following the rules. We were overweight a long tine like everyone on here. You gotta want it to win it. Good luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
