For me is seeing the weight come off every month. My clothes getting to big. Having more energy and being able to walk longer each week. Getting off all the medicines for cholesterol and blood pressure. Start with small obtainable goals you can achieve. You can do it!!

Seeing the weight came off was definite motivation, but for me, I had no want to exercise a whole lot because the weight was coming off. My motivation kicked in when I started to slow down in which I joined a gym again and also got a personal trainer two times a week.

I remember losing 70lbs at one point prior to the band with a physical trainer and I am at the weight I originally had been with that, but I was SOOOOOO much more toner because of having my butt constantly kicked.

Between knowing where I was when I lost that original 70lbs (prior to gaining it back and not going to the gym again) and having an AMAZING trainer that I enjoy my workouts with is a huge motivation.

Having personal trainers in the past and now having the one I have now it is night and day. Because for me, I now want to go to the gym, look forward to my time with my trainer because it's not just another butt kicking workout, but my trainer is also a good friend as well now. Which also helps in motivation, not wanting to disappoint my "trainer" but now more so not wanting to disappoint my "friend" as well. She also doesn't just train you but teaches you why you are doing what you are doing and how to do it.

Those that live in the Mesa, AZ and want a trainer I definitely recommend Alisha from Fitness Evolution if you are looking to get a trainer.

I now work out 6 days a week, doing cardio for 1 hour to 1.5 hours most days, and then 2 times a week I'm with my trainer for an additional 30 minutes and still doing the same amount of cardio.

Having goals also helps - I signed up for the color vibe (a 5k color run/walk) in November in AZ so it's a goal of mine to get to a point I can at LEAST light jog the entire thing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
