I hope this fixes things up for you Trish. I have thought about you so much since this all started and you posted your pics of the port area. I am glad you are changing Dr.s. Were you still using the one in your signature? I ask because we had discussed a ride share, and I need to know who I am avoiding!! I was banded 8 days ago, so have awhile, but need to know if I too should look elsewhere. All my good thoughts and best wishes for this to soon all be behind you, and you be banded and healthy again!!!

Thanks!!! The Dr. that my surgeon and I have selected, and spoke with is Dr. Timothy Brown, he operates out of both Pueblo, and Canon City CO. he is with Colorado Bariatrics. I went to his seminar, and spoke with his staff when I first began the band journey, I wanted to use him as my surgeron, but insurance denied me repeatedly, so I self paid in MX. I did really well with the surgeon I used, and don't want some other Dr. to screw it up, as I am sure you understand! Thanks so much for sharing your story with us, and helping us to help ourselves be bolder in our choices of Dr.'s!

Trish ~ I am so glad to hear you are one step closer to healing!! This shows the power of prayer (another thread). I just thought of something today as I was reading your most recent post.....my DH had an open wound from his hernia surgery. A portion of the wound had to heal from the inside out. We we able to get an in-home health care come to the house every day to clean and pack it. They showed me how and I almost passed out.:faint:I can relate in a sense of what your dealing with. Call your insurance to see if they offer that program after seeing the wound specialist. We had a co-pay along with it, but it was sooo worth it. After she came for the max visits, she left supplies and my DH took it from there. He is now completely healed.

Take care and find comfort in knowing you are lifted in prayer and you will be fine!!! You are going to grow from this and help someone else someday. ~Keep in touch~

Hello everyone! I feel like I have been beaten and thrown out to the dogs! I am in so much pain I barley can walk... dont even ask how I sit down and stand up... and the bathroom UGH!!! I think this hurts worse then my orignal band surgery.

I go in tomorrow to see my PCP he cant really do anything but maybe he can give me some pain meds. I called Dr. in Phoenix, AZ Dr. Terry Simpson. his web page looked really good and he seems very caring for his patients. I guess tomorrow I will call Dr. Frezza in Lubbock TX I know he has done a lot of surgeries mostly RNY though. We will see.

I am just trying to survive each day. I still want my band though... I am not ready to give up! I never even had a chance to use it like I should. I just hope its not to late.

I go to Dr. Simpson and he is a great Dr. I was banded in Nov. and have lost 60 lbs now. The day I had surgery i went home and cleaned house I felt so good. If yoy have any problems he gives you his e-mail and gets back to you within min. He even post great recipes on his sites. The staff

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
