It all depends on how much you have in your band and whether you can swallow a pill or not. As for me I can't take a large pill so I ask for liquid, for instance Cipro is huge so I can't take it, not sure if it came in a liquid or not but they gave a Zpack instead. Capsules I can take, chewable vitamins I take but yes to answer your question if any antibiotics comes in liquid form do take it that way, its much easier.

Just because you have a lap band, doesn't mean you can only take liquid or chewables. I am on anti-biotics right now and I'm 4 1/2 months post op. If you are newly banded or tight, pills may be a problem and liquid would be the better choice, but if you are like me, which is neither newly banded or tight, you can take pills...the ones I'm taking right now are horse pills and I don't have any problem with them...Best Wishes :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
