I still have mine and I'm 3 months post op today. Everyone varies. Some don't ever have it. Some have it a couple days or weeks. And some of the more unlucky ones get it permanently. Usually caused by over eating. Its different in my case though. I will get it for no reason and nothing helps. Hope you aren't like me.

Soon. I know it's a real nuisance, just like a toothache. I took Tylenol and it helped. Heating pad felt goodmas well. It gets lesser and lesser but it would rear its ugly head once in awhile for the first month after surgery.

I had it for a good three weeks post-op. Now at 5 weeks, nothing. When I had it, it was really bad. And pain meds didn't seem to touch it. Although, a shot of liquid Vicodin made me not care :P

Had it at first, it went away, but came back when I hit the green zone. It is my "soft stop" eating too much, too fast or not chewing enough will generate pain in my left shoulder. It is Mistress Band's way of letting me know that she is still there, and still in control.

What about tingling in fingers? Very faint.

Tingling in fingers sounds like something coming from your neck.....a compressed nerve. I would call & ask your doctor. I haven't heard of anything like that, but I can say that my back was totally tweaked after surgery. I already have issues, and the way they position you on the table during surgery, can play havoc with any existing skeletal conditions. Took over a week before my back pain subsided from surgery.

I was told much of the tingling and odd pains is from the band or the tube coming from your port irritating the nerves in your body. The pain varies and can come and go, but nerves tend to heal or "get use" things in about 3 years. I have had multiple sugeries on my hand. It took about 4 years for the nerves to get back to a normal state.

I'm day 6 post-op and don't have any pain in the shoulder so far. Yesterday was bad though. I pray I don't have any of that pain for as long as some people have had it. I was told that the shoulder pain was because of the gas they put in the abdomen to have room to work. If that's the case, once the gas is out of the system, the shoulder pain should be gone too. I hope.

It's nothing too bad. The shoulder only hurts when I take deep breathes. The hands only get tingly sometimes. The first two days my three fingers on each hand were numb but it got better. Now just some sporadic, faint tingling.

Mine lasted for (what I thought) was a long time. I was afraid that it was something that I would have to live with from being banded. But it did stop, and I hope it does for all of you.

Right, for the first week it is. But after that, the gas is absorbed in your body but the band/tubing can cause irritation to your diaphragm and then give you that same pain in your left shoulder. I restarted my anxiety pain meds and am hoping that might take the edge off. If not, maybe try gabapentin like I did to calm the nerve pain from my leg after surgery...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
