I was only on Clear Liquids 2 days and then went to full liquids, creamy Soups etc. I would suggest checking with your doctor or nutritionist.

I was also on clear liquids for two days, then on to full liquids. Did you get the dates for your diet progression? If you are on clear liquids, what type of Protein Shakes are you drinking?

That depends, when does your doctor say it's ok to have puree'd Soups?

If you're not supposed to have them yet, then no, it's not ok to have them. It's imperative you follow your post op diet exactly to give your body time to heal. Otherwise you're putting your health and band at a big risk.

I know it's hard but this is a temporary phase. Hang in there.

Then wait 2 days and go to thicker liquids. Don't cheat or skip ahead on the steps, it's not worth the risks.

Btw, I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks after surgery then full liquids for 2 weeks after that. It sucks but it can be done.

I was on clear liquid for 2 days and then went to full liquid. Cream of potato Soup was a savior. Everything will be better when you get to that. Stay tough!

I'm on clear liquids for 1 week (just finished) and then full liquids for another 2 weeks. And I'm supposed to only have 1/4 cup of one of the full liquids 6 times a day. So.. 1.5 cups of full liquid total, plus my Water. I'm starving and with only having like 175 calories a day, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to have enough energy to do anything other than sleep!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
