Pain is finally subsiding some. Went back to work this morning, but not that comfortable sitting for long periods of time. On the plus side, had my coffee with Creamer, and was able to do a small amount of Protein Shake yesterday. Not really feeling hungry but still have some discomfort from gas. Not planning on weighing myself until Friday. That will be one week from the day of surgery. I did lose 15 lbs preop, and hoping I see great results with this. I dont want to be discouraged by weighing daily, so I have decided not to even look at a scale except once a week. I can already tell some of my clothes are fitting better. I am very determined to lose this weight and get back to where I was when I got married, or at least within 20 lbs of that. I just want to feel better, and not tire so quickly, and be able to play catch with my kids without getting winded.

So glad you are feeling good and your clothes are fitting better. Have you ever put protien powder in you coffee? I put chocolate in there sometimes and it was good. It made it taste like a mocha. Check out my Lap band blog www.biscuitsandexcuses.blogspot.com

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
