I remember what it felt like to start realizing that I wasn't fat anymore.... it was crazy, and it was a process.

This Tummy Tuck thing.... you are TOSSED in - the change happens in a few short hours - and POOF, a tummy I never thought possible. Consider these psychological impacts if you decide to have one.

I am 5 days post op - posted some pictures on my blog.

Thanks for sharing! You look AMAZING!!

Seeing your pics is the inspiration I need right now. I'm having a Tummy Tuck and (big) hernia repair on Wednesday and I gotta tell you, I'm scared to freak'n death lol. I know the recovery from this surgery is going to make past surgeries look like a cake walk.

The part I'm dreading most is those drains. I've had them before and they are so uncomfortable! Do you still have yours in?

Thanks for sharing. I haven't yet begun this journey (will be banded 28th May) and my stomach already hangs over severely I can only imagine after losing the 100 and some pounds I need to lose. So, it was helpful seeing how well yours turned out . Now, if I can get over the fear of having one.:) Thanks again

You look great, nice job on the abdominoplasty. OMG those drains are so uncomfortable, but we use compression garments here in the UK so drains are out after 4 days, they are much bigger ones too by the looks of it, great big vaccuum bottles lol

I wish you a speedy recovery and enjoy life in the 'normal' lane now !!

Thanks for sharing with us! It really helps those of us that are a few step behind you to prepare for the next step. I'm scheduled for a TT 1 week from today and for some reason I'm so scared!! I keep trying to prepare myself but the best help is seeing those that have had it done and were just as scared, but are so happy the took the plunge. I keep telling myself I will feel the same way and I just have to (like your blog said) be brave!

thanks again! I'll keep lots of pictures to share withyou guys a few step behind me.

I can assure you it is totally worth it and its more scarey having a lapband fitted when most of us were really heavy and unhealthy, I am sure you will be fine and just keep thinking of what u will feel like once all that skin has gone :) good luck !

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
