Recommended Posts

Aim for a healthy bmi. Then work your butt off (Literally) to get there.

Good luck to you all :)

i also started around a 32 bmi- 152cm and about 75kg. i lost about 21kg over 5 months' date=' then i started exercising and didn't lose more weight, but dropped a dress size or two. i'm gaining again, but it's because i'm expecting. :D i think after the birth it will be easy to get back down because i had no trouble maintaining before i got pregnant.[/quote']

Hello! We have almost the same numbers! I'm almost 3 weeks post-op and I have lost 14 pounds, I'm kinda stuck though...I will have my first fill June 7th. 21kg is amazing!!!! Any advice for me? :)

I started the lap band consultations at a BMI of 33. The preop and post op phases i lost the most amount of weight in a relatively fast period and got into the healthy weight range in around 8 months, although at the higher end. It was a very slow to get down the final kilos to hit my ultimate target BMI of 22.5.

All up i have lost 1/3rd of my start weight.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
