MandySha 30 Posted May 6, 2013 Yes, I do Portion Control. If I eat only half a cup like they say, I'm hungry in about an hour or so. I was advised to eat about a cup to help keep control of my hunger. You have to remember that everyone is different, just because you can eat 10 bites and food and be ok, doesn't mean another person will be ok with that amount of food. I am on a low calorie/fat diet and even eat less calories then I'm supposed to eat. I exercise daily and have lost over 25 lbs in 2 months. I just want to feel the band working, just like everyone else. 2 swhitehead and Kitt3000 reacted to this
Lori4080 64 Posted May 6, 2013 I did not spend thousands of dollars to DO IT ON MY OWN. Why would anyone do that? If I am doing my part, then I expect the band to do its part -- being satisfied on less amounts of food. Nothing is going to stop any of us from eating the wrong things and won't take away head hunger. What I'm saying FOR ME is it has taken awhile to even notice a difference. SOME people might relate to that, but not everyone. My advise is patience and perseverance. I believe the band works but only with the correct fill, which is different for everyone. 7 swhitehead, lellow, elcee and 4 others reacted to this
MandySha 30 Posted May 7, 2013 Lori I agree, I paid out of pocket for my surgery. I do understand its a life style change and you do need to watch your food intake, but I also think the band is supposed to help with this change. The restriction is there to help you with your Portion Control, that's what it's designed to do. If you have to do it on your own, why didn't they just hand you the band in the package it came in??? Put it in your pocket and carry it around with you every day...wouldn't have needed surgery to install it, if you had to do it on your own. But fortunately, you don't have to do it on your own. The band will do its part when it gets properly adjusted for each individual. I/you may need more or less than the next person....does not make me or them wrong. Thats why it's adjustable. And as an added benefit, it does help considerably with head hunger too, when properly adjusted. You can read from people on here who "skip" meals...from people who preach restriction on both sides...because they're not hungry...."forgot to eat"! Just gotta get there... and you can. Best wishes. 5 swhitehead, lellow, Jennie Lou and 2 others reacted to this
Debbie3sons 1,936 Posted May 8, 2013 I have a 14 cc band and it took me 4 fills to start feeling like I didn't need to eat 4 to 5 hours later however if u do liitle healthly Snacks inbetween and drink the 48 to 68 0z of Water it makes you fuller longer also I am going for a fill also on the 8th , today , and I have 10cc's n the 14 cc band so I am losing it seems slow but I there are some things I can't even eat any more so I don't eat them cause I have had the stuck episodes wich I can't stand the slime or the hurt feeling I get ion my body, and my body is telling me when to quit eating but I still eat just not as much as I used to , so yes be patient it does pay off , we have to learn as we go last time my Doc only gave me a quarter fill so I may ask for a bit more but he will tell me if he thinks I need it or not , and he makes me drink water right away to make sure it's going down and I have to drink the whole 8 oz in the office so , yes just be patient you know your body better than anyone and you know what your eating so good luck . Lilbelly 31 Posted May 8, 2013 I am at 8cc's, was at 9 and it was too much for me. Yeah, the band is a tool, its not a magical instrument that loses weight for you. You have to work at it. Exercise is a big key to losing. You have to change your life style. I eat on a bread size plate, no more large dinner plates for me. Start like that, think about what YOU put in your mouth. It doesn't happen overnight, it takes work on your part & want for a healthier thinner you. Think positive & read whatever you can to help you. It will be a year for me May 22, ! I feel great!!!!!!!! Best of luck to all of you!

It'sTime 82 Posted May 11, 2013 If you're only at 6.5 cc in a 14 cc band, you're not when half way there. Hang in there . . . Your green zone/sweet spot will come. Remember, good things come to those who wait. And very good things come to Bandsters who wait!!!!
It'sTime 82 Posted May 11, 2013 If the band is a tool are you really doing this on your own?
