why am I so tired?

Recommended Posts

Banded 3/25/13 and I've noticed this past week that by 3 pm I'm exhausted. I'm literally ready to fall asleep at my desk.

Im walking 1-3 miles a day, drink alot of Water, am getting my Protein, and taking my Vitamin and Calcium.

I know I'm getting enough calories because I haven't had my first fill yet and other than some Constipation I'm doing great...except for the fatigue.

Has anyone else had this or have any suggestions on how to get past it?

Thanks for you're advice!

Since you are a month out from surgery, have you possibly started eating more carbs? That can cause delayed fatigue an hour or so after consuming.

I don't have any suggestions but I am in the same boat. I had my surgery 3/28/13. I am getting between 70-100 gr of Protein. Between 800-1100 calories and hydrated. But I am whooped by 4 pm. I'm in bed by 8:00 pm.

I'm not eating bread, rice, or Pasta, and I'm staying away from sugar-- but i did have some tortilla chips and salsa.

Since surgery I've had one piece of bread, and dessert three times. Could it be carbs?

It COULD be, or it could be something else. If it persist, call your doc and discuss.

But, kinda keep track of what you've eaten a couple hours before it comes on and see if you detect a pattern. If I have a meal consisting of a lot of carbs, say a dessert/flour products like battered fish/potato/etc, I notice that sleep monster coming soon after. I don't limit carbs, just notice how I feel after a lot of them.

Are you taking all your Vitamins and minerals? Your body may be healing still. It was surgery. Calling the doctor doesn't hurt either.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
