atlasmaia 3 Posted April 26, 2013 The requirements that my surgeon's office gave me to do post op in order to get approved for the surgery is almost done! Back in February was my first visit to the surgeon, we meet again for the second time on 5/20 to see where I am in the process. I've been trying diligently for the past 2 months to get everything done by that date so I can get this booked. What I've finished so far: 2 Lap Band support group meetings Letter from my PCP 1st meeting with a nutritionist (last on 5/7) 1st meeting for psych evaluation (Last on 5/1) I've finished all blood work that is required I took a 30 minute online class that they required. Once I get those last two things done, all of that info will get sent to my health insurance for an approval (fingers crossed), The office told me that approvals from my insurance company usually go smoothly. My insurance bases an approval on whether or not the surgery is medically necessary. My surgeon told me that it probably won't be an issue since my BMI is over 50. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing! I'm hoping the surgery will be booked this summer 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
