lolarose13 147 Posted April 24, 2013 This is me today! haha I'm so anxious that I'm eating more than I should. We just had a luncheon at work and I had 2 turkey sandwiches, Pasta salad, potato salad and 2 little Desserts, all because I'm anxious for the surgery. I stop when I feel full, but I guess my current tummy needs a lot to get that sensation. That's my fear, what if I'm able to screw like this with my band-on? I was taking fluoxetine, just a little doze for anxiety for the last 5 months, but my doctor told me to stopped last month, pre-surgery. And I don't think the medication helped much. KAATNS 1,473 Posted April 24, 2013 Sounds like you might be having a little bit of the "last supper" syndrome. I don't think you'd be able to eat like that with the band, but it is important to be mentally prepared. Are you doing the pre-op diet soon?
lolarose13 147 Posted April 24, 2013 No yet, I don't really have to do the pre-diet, since I'm under 35 BMI, but I'm planning to do it anyways, and you are totally right! sometimes I feel that this is the last chance to get some things that I like...how awful 1 parisshel reacted to this

But the day I got banded, the food funeral stopped. And I don't miss it one bit, seriously. I'm only one month postop, but I've never had a moment where I miss being able to eat "like that" since my band.
utkscvol1 125 Posted April 24, 2013 Me too! I'm waiting on insurance approval- but I know how u feel. When I eat something I keep thing Better enjoy it, you won't be getting it again.
Spaness2012 609 Posted April 24, 2013 If it makes you feel any better. Even if i pushed the limits (which I wouldn't)...my band with the current fill I have couldn't possibly eat close to that. I may have gotten through a half of that turkey sandwich and a dessert (if I ate slowly and took small bites and didn't get stuck) and then my soft or hard stop would remind me that I was "done"! I had these fears too...what if I eat right through the band? I'm sure it can be done. But with a properly adjusted band...there is no way. My head might get upset about this sometimes...but my body is in charge now! Good luck with your surgery! 2 lolarose13 and ItsANewDay reacted to this
