K@t 38 Posted April 28, 2006 Thanks every one. It's day 2 and I'm doing a bit better. I actually made lunch for hubby and loaded the dishes in the dish washer. It just hurts when I get up or lay down now. Problem is I'm starting to feel hungry. It doesn't take much to fill me up (less then 100ml) but I feel like I want REAL food. I keep watching TV and people are eating real food and I want a little bit. My hubby is being really strict keeping on the liquid diet, and not just the liquid diet, but what the nutritionist prescribed.....vegtable Soup 3 times a day, milk 3 times a day with a carb powder supplement and then juice 3 times a day with a Protein powder supplement, and Water in between (at least 1.5l) I wanted some chicken broth and he wouldn't let me have any because the damned nutritionist didn't put it on her list, and we have SF hot chocolate and he wont let me mix that with my milk because the damned nutritionist didn't put it on her list.... *sigh* I'm sure if I stick to exactly what the nutritionist prescribed I'll lose weight faster, but I hate the feeling of depriving myself, and it's not like I want to eat a lot. Ohh well...here's to hoping this liquid phase gets over fast (I'm supposed to do 2 weeks but maybe after 1 week she will let me move on to mushies)

Ceparano 0 Posted April 28, 2006 Hey K@t, I understand how you feel but what a great support system you have with your DH. Just think of how skinny your going to be this very Summer if you stick with it. I've been on mushies since I left the hospital (the day after surgery) and I'm getting feed up with my food choices and want some "real" food. Try giving your doctor a call next week and letting him know your still hungry, maybe he'll advance you to the next stage. At any rate, your doing great, keep up the good work. K@t 38 Posted April 29, 2006 You guys suck! Your not supposed to be supporting my hubby!! Your supposed to be telling me what I want to HEAR! I.e. I can go eat whatever I want...... Ok back to reality. I lost another 300gm last night, thats around .6lbs...can u say :wow2: In one day. I know if I stick to what the nutritionist wants I'll lose faster. *sigh* ohh well..... I still want a bit of a cheese burger and fries when I can eat normal food.....(not mc donalds food either, like real cheeseburger and fries, from a good hometown kind of restaurant.) giveyouthemoon 4 Posted April 29, 2006 You guys suck! Your not supposed to be supporting my hubby!! Your supposed to be telling me what I want to HEAR! I.e. I can go eat whatever I want...... LOL...well I'm not going to tell you to eat whatever you want...but I AM going to tell you....to send hubs to the store for something, milk, broth, whatever, and while he's gone drink some friggin' hot chocolate! I mean, if it will make you feel better, then have it. Fer chrissakes, it's not like sugar free hot chocolate is going to halt your progress! I drink it often! Tell hubby "I know a girl who's lost 80lbs drinking sugar free hot chocolate!" This time is about your healing....and in order to heal, you have to be happy. And if Mama K@t isn't happy....ain't NO ONE that's happy!!!!! Remind your man that this time is NOT about losing, it's about healing! Sheesh! Between you and me if during my liquids phase someone told me I couldn't have something an innocuous as sf hot chocolate, I'd probably have smacked 'em senseless! *grin*
K@t 38 Posted April 29, 2006 lol thanks Karen, I actually mixed some in with my milk today right in front of him. He didn't notice until I had drank it all...he sai...sooo u mixed in some hot chocolate ehh....and that was it. He's leaving to go to work later and I think I might have some chicken broth. The same puree vegetable Soup is just getting old. Good new is I'm not hungry. But when I am hungry I would like to drink something with a bit more taste. Any way, I'm only on day 3, here's hoping to hubby keeping me straight until day 7.
Stitchy 0 Posted April 29, 2006 K@t Instructions from my docs office is Clear liquids for the first couple of days. For the next two weeks, during full liquid stage is you can have stuff like Tomato Soup made with non-fat milk or water; smooth yogurt; Carnation Instant Breakfast. If anything looks a little thick, thin it down with milk, broth, Water. You should be able to drink it with a straw (not that you have to.) The idea is to be very gentle to your new, healing pouch. Nothing with chunks, seeds, no matter how small. If you want, I could pm you the chart. They seem to understand about needing something with some flavor. BTW - what a GREAT DH!:clap2:
