sistercin 5 Posted April 24, 2013 HELP!!! I was banded on the 19th. Procedure was done around 5:45 that fri evening. I have not eaten since Thursday the 18th. I've done good so far. Gas pain a lot better. Actually went to gym this morning(tues) and walked a mile very slowly. All was well doing Protein Drinks and liquids until I decided to make a puréed Soup today. I drank probably 5-6 oz and I drank about 3oz of apple juice and Water over a period of 3 hrs. Anyway, I'm miserable! Feels like something is stuck I'm my throat and my stomach is a constant rumble. I took nausea pill and Gasx and NO relief yet. My stomach is actually sore. I can't even imagine drinking h2o. I even keep burping. Anybody had this or similar?...please help me!!!...sistercin
Tomander 614 Posted April 24, 2013 Hi Hang in there the feeling will pass. I don't think you should have had the Soup. Most doctor say Clear Liquids for a full week following surgery but each doctor is different. I had to follow a four week plan Post-op plan... I really stuck to my menu plan... I was afraid to change it Don't over do it with exercise... remember you had surgery you need time to heal.. It will get better!!! Tom, Toronto Banded July 6 06 Wt. bigcheese 50 Posted April 24, 2013 I am on day 3, I was allowed mushy before leaving the hospital but was told start one to two ounces, not more than 4, maybe just a little to much Soup? Apple juice also upsets my stomach, even before surgery. Give the feeling time to pass, then maybe start slower
Tomander 614 Posted April 24, 2013 Wow... mushy foods the first week. The acid in the apple juice might be hard on your stomach big cheese. Tom, Toronto Banded July 6 06 Wt. Loss: 156 lbs
hely88 883 Posted April 24, 2013 If you are concerned the first thing you should do is call your doctor. There are no band doctors or nurses on this site that I have heard of. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Draven 188 Posted April 24, 2013 Hello. First and fore most, call your doctor. They are there for you. and no concern is too small that they shouldnt address it. That being said, I had a similar experience. For the first week after surgery i was in unbelievable pain. It does get better. Stick with it, follow directions, and you will do great. Best of luck!!!!!!
asquill17 72 Posted April 24, 2013 I think you should def call ur surgeon. The walking is good, seeing as its the only thing that helps that pesky gas after surgery. I would stay on liquids until I speak to my doctor.
