Last night I was eating dinner...pork chops and mashed potatoes. I did really well for the first few bites, so I decided to have a little more. BIG mistake! I started getting the feeling that I was too full. It was almost like the feeling where you feel like something is stuck...but if you wait it out it'll pass. No pain, just some burping and a little uncomfortable. 3 hrs later I had a sugar free Popsicle and had trouble getting it down. I drank some liquid and threw that up along with the Popsicle. I thought that would make me feel better, but this morning I still can't even keep liquids down. I'm afraid to call the Dr. Because I don't want them to take any Fluid out of my band or stick a tube down my throat. My band is NOT too tight. I'm only on 2nd fill and have been doing very well with it for weeks now. Anyone know what might be going on?

I can't keep liquids down, so I think I'm gonna call the Dr. Thanks, Missy!

Hmmm. Pork is a dry meat and one I know I stay away from. I've never figured out how to cook pork chops so they stay moist.

calling the doctor is the best thing to do and early so they don't have to take it out I didn't and its a slow recovery to get the fills back to green.

They got me right into the Dr. Office and removed half of the Fluid from my band. I feel like a new person!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
