Getting back on track

Recommended Posts

I got my band seven years ago. I was the perfect patient for 5 years. I followed all the rules....ate right, drank my Water, exercised. Then somehow, I lost focus and started gaining. At my lightest, I had lost about 120 lbs. Now I have managed to gain about 60 lbs back. I hate it but cant seem to find my motivation again. I have gone back to all my old habits. Always thinking about food, drinking diet soda, no exercise, etc.

Is there anybody else out there in this same situation? How did you find a way to get back on track and get the weight back off? I was self-pay so it really bothers me that I spent the money to do it and now I am not committed to it anymore. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.

I'm a newbie so maybe I shouldnt comment but maybe start logging your food with my fitness pal. I didn't realize how many calories I was taking in until I logged it. A workout friend can help u get back to the gym or just out moving. Its easier for me to go when I have a buddy. . . Good luck!:)

Congrats on your weight loss. It's very impressive. You only gained back 60. Maybe it's time to go back to the basics? Log your food again, start drinking more Water, etc....visit with your doctor..maybe you can use a fill?

Good luck!

I have been banded about 4 years and same thing happened to me. You just really have to dig down deep and find what will make you get back on track. I thought about it for a long time and then saw a picture of me and that was the straw. I got in touch with my doctor and they did a flouro to make sure my band was ok and then gave me a small fill. I have followed their guidelines and not looked back. I have lost over 50 lbs since last October for total of hopefully over 100 at tomorrows weigh in and last week I joined a gym. If I can do it anyone can. You have to have that "want power". I also have a recipe group on Facebook if you would like to join freind me at hely lb. Its really great and has become very active. People share food ideas , pictures of their meals, what they are having for dinner etc.. It is open to everyone. Best of luck and please feel free to Facebook me any time.

You're not alone. I'm right there with you. Got off track for about 4 years and am slowly getting back on track. I'm also self pay.

The fist step I made was to go to my doctor to have my band tightened. Now I'm focused on chewing each bite of food 20 times and eliminating bread.

I guess my philosophy is to get back on Track one step at a time.

We did this before.... We can do it again!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
