Is there anyway you can eat some kind of fruit down? You've got a sweet tooth like me and I do eat Nature Valley high Protein granola bars occasionally but fruit is sweet and maybe if you dice apples and other seasonal fruit maybe it will stay down without you getting sick. Call your doctor and discuss it with him. Maybe your doctor will put you back on your pre op diet again. You've got to get Protein down otherwise

You're not going to lose weight properly. Please, please call your doctor above any advice that you may receive on the board. We're all here for support but most of us are not doctors.

I hope everything works out for you!

It means that you are too tight. You need to get some Fluid taken out so that you can eat proper food. Many sweet things are sliders, so they go down easily even if you are too tight and they are high calorie so they stop you from losing.

I agree probably too tight. See your doctor before your band slips. I find Decaf coffee soothes my sweet tooth but sounds like that is least of your problems.

see your doctor and have the band looked at to make sure it isn't slipping from vomiting. Get back on liquids only for a few days. for something sweet add a flavor to your coffee, Snapple helps me, yogurt with fresh fruit with sweetner is my go to. Just like any life change it take a lot of work and some suffering, this isn't easy like so many think but it helps so much if you do the work. Get the doctor ASAP. Its not the sweet tooth its the vomiting thst is the problem

All depends upon where you are at with your weight loss.....

The other day I purchased a X-large hershey bar at the cash register...it was GOOD....

I'm still here...didn't die, didn't gain weight.....and I USED to be a diabetic...that's all ok also....

Difference is, for me anyhow, one candy bar is not going to kill me....and it's not like I'm eating them, plus other garbage items, all day every day like I used to....

I'm now at a point where it is all things in moderation, nothing in excess....

But I am no longer concerned about loosing weight, and not afraid of gaining....(I tested the band...it works)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
