I weighed as soon as I got home from the hospital 3 days ago and it was 359.2. I've weighed everyday since then and this morning it was 346.1. I'm weighing every morning when I wake up at about the same time. I'm on a clear liquid diet for two weeks since I had a hernia that the doctor needed to fix. I'm full most of the time after a couple of ounces of liquids. I was just wondering if this much weight lose in that short of time was normal?

It's probably normal, just be sure you're staying hydrated and follow your doctor's instructions. You can always call the office just to be certain. Good luck to you!

everyone is different...some lose faster than others

and you are full on a small amount as you are still swollen inside...as it subsides, you will be able to drink more and gradually eat more...just keep following your doctors instructions.

The doctor said I can go to full liquids after two weeks. I had a hyenal (spelling?) hernia he had to fix. He said I would be more sore for longer than usual. Thanks for the info.

90% of the weight you're losing right now is your body shedding excess fluids so no harm in that.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
