I am down 56 pounds, so slowly, but I am happy. From September to March, I didn't lose anything, while I battled with some other issues (needing orthopaedic surgery on my hand), but I also didn't gain anything, which is a victory in it's self :)

Yep! I know that I can easily maintain my weight, while listening to my hunger cues, and eating smaller portions of pretty much whatever I want. That's a huge victory, compared to before surgery :D

I've lost 42 lbs I've lost more than I still need to lose. It's a slow process but its working. I haven't been under 200 lbs for over 11 years. I couldn't have done it without the band. I love my tool :)

My surgery was April 2,2012. My last fill was September 27,2012. I have lost 87 pounds. But the past few weeks I'm battling allergies. At least 3 nights a week, I wake up with reflux. I ate at 7:30 and went to bed at midnight. I notice that when I try to drink something I will get the hiccups. Then about 2-3 am I wake up with burping and chest pains. Sometimes I can take some tums but I have to wait at least an hour before I can go back to laying down. Is this normal and should I call the dr?

I had my surgery April 10 2012 and have lost 75 lbs. I have not seen a doctor for the last year because we moved to AZ. How often do you need to be seen when you are this far out if surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
