GeorgiaGirlie 6 Posted April 21, 2013 My boyfriend and I have been sexually active for a little over a month now. This is the first time I've been active since I was 17 and I'm now 27. I'm not a very "experienced" person. I just recently had a fill on 4/3 and I'm already now starting to eat more. Before I was active, I wouldn't notice an increase in my eating until about a month after my fill. It's already 4/21? My weight has stalled for the past week now. I get kind of confused with the EPT home pregnancy tests where it tells you to take so many days after your missed period. I've been irreglar for as long as I can remember so I really don't know when to take it. I've tried taking the test a week before my period and a week after my period and it gives a negative. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I feel bloated all the time and I feel like I've gained all my weight that I've already lost. Is that some of the early signs of pregnancy? I don't want to be pregnant right now but would be happy if I turned out to be. I'm not on any birth control. I had a bad experience when I was younger with birth control and wound up gaining a lot of weight so I vowed never to take the pill again. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Toddy 758 Posted April 21, 2013 First of all, I hope you're not have unprotected sex! Second, BC pills do not make you gain weight -- but pregnancy sure as hell does. I know you're tired of hearing from me, but from your two posts this morning it sounds like you're in desperate need of some maternal advice. 2 ☠carolinagirl☠ and hely88 reacted to this
☠carolinagirl☠ 18,721 Posted April 21, 2013 take a pregnancy test and find out if you are or not that way you can rest your mind in regards to that
line-dancer 810 Posted April 21, 2013 go to your doctor or plan parenthood.. for a real test then get on some sort of birth control. now that you have the band even if the birth control did cause weight gain which it does not this should ease your mind. life is all about thinking before doing and setting yourself up for success this is part of it. For now go to the store and get some off the shelf prevention until you get the advice of a doctor. Babies are forever and they come first this is the time to put yourself first and set yourself up for a good future for you and you children... good luck 1 Toddy reacted to this

Georgia, sweetheart....have him use condoms. You don't know about his health status, and the last thing you want is to get pregnant without his buy-in. I'm 54 and have been through these things with my own children who are now grown and married. Some years ago, my son was in a casual relationship with a young woman who was never going to be his wife, but when she became pregnant, this was suddenly a real possibility. There was no baby, and I'll not comment on that decision as it was hers to make, but if she had kept the child, it would likely have been a disaster for everyone. I thought I had made it clear to my children to be responsible about birth control but it wasn't until this scare that my son understood the impact this could have had on his life. If this young man you are seeing is the one you expect will be your partner in life, then that is wonderful and children will come when the time is right. Good luck to you my dear and know that the folks on this forum are here to support you and help you on your journey.
hely88 883 Posted April 21, 2013 i had a difficult time reading your pink font. i just wanted to say that my tom is horrilbe since i have had a few fills. I was so tight the other day that i could not eat at all and had to force down shakes. for anyone who knows me i hate to drink my calories. it was also very painful on my back and could not stand for very long. just keep in mind that the band along with your weight loss will change your body. you will always be relearning things you thought you knew. CanCan1791 57 Posted April 21, 2013 In the early stages of pregnancy there is not a lot of weight gain. Most women can stay in normal clothes until after the first trimester. If the pregnancy tests are coming out negative, you are probably not pregnant . Worrying about being pregnant can make your period not come. I would advise just relaxing and waiting to see if you get your period in the next week or two. During that time don't drink alcohol or smoke. If you are pregnant, the waiting doesn't hurt anything. You may be stalled in weight loss because you are in a happy relationship. When I met my husband (preband) I gained 20 pounds in a very short time. And absolutely use some form of birth control. Babies need to be planned.
Lapbandster 496 Posted April 21, 2013 Just to add what the other's have already said, you should know that not all birth control pills are bad! SOME are horrible, especially the crappy brands, but if you seek hard enough, you will find a good brand that will not give you adverse effects.
Heather_8.1.14 65 Posted April 24, 2013 Their are other forms of birth control, such as an IUD or nuva ring which do not cause weight gain. I was on the nuva ring for 7 years and never had any problems with it. Call your gyne and set up an appointment to go over all of your options.
